Doesn't even matter. Most games sell most of lifetime sales in the first few days. After that, it's down, down, down. It may sell a huge amount this one day, but then horrible the days after. Averages are just that, doesn't mean it will keep selling that amount every day. Besides, do you really think this will sell over 100K in Japan? It's on the wrong platform for character action games.

I don't even have any words for how wrong this is. The PS4 sold 1M in the US in just 24 hours. If we're going by your crazy average facts, the PS4 has already possibly sold 313M units in the US alone.
I kinda see the US making up most of Bayo 2's sales. But in Japan, it can't ever hope to go above 100K. The JPN is basically like the US and UK market. Only the big name games will get the best sales, and there will be a few surprise hits once in a while. Sales for Bayo 2 will keep decreasing every week from now on. It's already sold more this one week than The Wonderful 101 did in its lifetime in Japan.
Also, 38K in 2 days is decent, Xbox 360 version of Bayo 1 so...
If it really was "smokes and mirrors" and people are buying PS4s for future promise of games, then the PS4 wouldn't have sold <10K in Japan this week with the awesomeness at TGS lately, now would it?

Gets further away from Smash? What? Smash isn't going to go away. In fact, I bet Smash is gonna stay on the charts much longer than Bayo 2 ever will. Platinum Games are almost always full of bomba games (except for Bayo 1 and MGS Rising). Putting their games exclusively on Wii U isn't going to immediately make their games Multi million sellers. I doubt WW will even care much too.
Not a 1st party title or even an exclusive, but please include Photo Mode. You wouldn't want to let those precious *ahem* assets and boob physics go to waste and not be photographed and analyzed by fans, now would you?
Here we go with the "Only Nintendo offers the best, and they save the gaming industry, so everyone should praise them as such!!!" Is it really that hard to accept that there are people who don't like the Wii U and its games? Why must Nintendo fanboys always act like this? Tearaway and The Wonderful 101 and Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze flopped, so why didn't you Nintendo fanboys who cherished and prioritized gameplay not get this this game?
It's the general perception, but clearly not a fact. It's the same as when people said the PS3 and Xbox 360 were full of dark and brown and gray shooters when that's clearly false.

If Crystal Tools and Luminous Engine weren't such absolute steaming hot mess, and SE have used third-party engines from the start, maybe, just maybe, they would have had an easier time making these games. That, and a tighter, stricter, and more focused management. Combine these, and the FFXIII trilogy could have just been 1 game, FFXIV maybe wouldn't have started out as a huge flop, and FFXV might have actually been the PS3's swan song, and we would have waiting for FFXVI now. <...

I think this is the adjusted sales. Madden '14 was included in the NPD last week IIRC.

The Vita's at 10M+, and had an 11 months headstart (Vita release in Japan in December 2011, Wii U in NA in Nov 2012). The Vita has sold more than 2M units/year! :D Vita means life, of course

And? Didn't the Wii U sell 3M+ in it's first few months? 3M in 4 months, yet has only sold 7M in 21 months. Doesn't that mean the Wii U also sold majority of its sales at launch?

Pretty sure Xbone will catch up to the Wii U. Japanese console sales don't mean much anymore, not when they are doing so horrible.
And how exactly did you come up with this conclusion? Do you really think sales = enjoyment? Most people don't care about sales. It's only the minority (people in gaming sites) that cares and argues about sales. People still care about gameplay very much. If a game looks great, then they'll buy it. But you also have to push it in marketing.
This is what I hate about Square Enix. Sure, they have been doing this since the early 90s, but they really need to stop working on so much games. I get SE is not a small company.
