I think it will be the exact opposite of what longtime hardcore nintendo purists want it to be.
I was adamantly against them going 3rd party at first, but Id gladly accept it if it meant getting true progression of their franchises on current/future gen consoles. So far the closest thing we have gotten to true Nintendo this gen has been R&C on ps4, and it did GREAT. Sad that other companies have been better at being Nintendo than Nintendo themselves.
The longer they chase the pot at the end of the rainbow, the further they will get from what made them great. Zelda seems to be their only franchise that has kept a linear forward progression. Mario has been held back to become more accessable (3DMW was great, but still a step backwards), and Metroid...pooooor metroid and its fans 😳

Finally got a chance to try VR on a samsung gear at best buy. Was already sure i would like VR, and after a 30 sec demo vid on an entry level headset I am convinced that I will love psvr and VR in general.

Rjason I agree with everything you just said except the mpff part. FF would not be so bad if it wasnt the first MPrime game weve seen in 10 years with nothing else on the horizon. Its obvious youve never played Bloodborne as it takes care of two of those right off the bat. I played Bayonetta 2 and liked it despite it feeling dated much of the time. DKTF? Seriously? A 2d platformer? While a very nice game in its own right there are games from the NES that rival its difficulty. I would LOVE for you to prove how popular Ssb is online. What was their last genre defining mindblowing game? When was the last time they moved things FORWARD? SM3DW and MK8 were great games, but SM3DW was arguably a step backwards from the true 3d mario games. It has nothing to do with visuals as those two games were visually spectacular, its more about their franchises either stagnating, moving backwards, or abominations like federation force.
They do still make the OCCASIONAL good game, but they used to make mindblowingly awesome genre defining/creating games. That seems to be gone as long as this current business model exists.
