I know you left, but did they seem to care more about Vanquish? Also, what position did you hold at Sega?
Yeah, for some reason I was concerned that Mikami would have trouble making cover-based shooter (look at other recent Japanese attempts - Quantum Theory, Lost Planet). Everything was dispelled by the demo though. Vanquish is a genre redefining game from the little I played.
Its lame that companies can shove out broken products and then 'fix' them later with a patch. The worst thing to happen this console generation.
Sucks that this will surely lead to the freemium model by adopted into hardcore games.
Man, I'm pumped for season one! Hope more people give this game a shot, its one of the best PC games and also has the greatest F2P model!
Kevin Butlers a pimp, only he can get those hot lonely moms to spring for his PS3.
Screw MGS, ZOE, Policenauts, Snatcher, etc! I want a new IP!
November can't come soon enough...
I guess I'm one of those 14 mil, but I haven't logged in for more than a year.
Ridiculous...
It's actually according to Nielsen, one of the largest research firms. PS3Center just reported on it.

Kinda makes me wanna try Hyperballoid.
Aren't Metal Gears mecha?
I always wanted to play this when I was a kid! It used to be on Nick Arcade all the time.
I hate to really say much about it, because I only really got to play for like 10 minutes, so it's hard to judge. Also, the Atomic guy said the game was pre-alpha too, so who knows how much it could change.
Map was a decent size, what I really enjoyed about it was how it went from wide open areas to claustrophobic tunnels, I thought that was cool.
Controls felt solid, there were some rather unorthodox complexities to it, though, like you can switch your fire rate on...
When I played the demo, the damage was fairly consistent with your standard MW2/BC2 model. It was definitely not a 1 hit = 1 kill system.
But yeah, it was definitely pretty fun overall. The damage is somewhere in between Bad Company and Red Faction. You can't level EVERYTHING, for example, only certain areas in the tunnels were collapsible, but it was a good mix. I imagine if you could level everything, that would really break the game.
I think I read an interview where, after doing a Sony exclusive(HS) and XBox exclusive(Kung Fu) they said it just made more financial sense for them to do multiplatform games :(
I was swept up in Heavy Rain my first play through, but when you look critically at some of the plot elements, there are a lot of holes.
Still really good, though. I feel David Cage is right on the edge of nailing his writing potential.
I always forget that it came out later in Europe.
Does anyone else think its funny when outlets promote other publications' reviews? Its like acknowledging they aren't influential.
