If they released it first half of 2010 than it would be in direct competition with their own games and the bajillion other 3rd party games scheduled then too. Kinda like how they delayed Killzone 2 solely so it wouldn't overlap with Resistance, LBP or their other titles. Plus, as it stands, they don't really have any other games scheduled for fall 2010.
Also, in regards to Uncharted, it's gonna be an awesome game, but you're delusional if you think it's gonna post system seller...
GT5 either NEEDS to come out this year OR it needs to be delayed until holiday season 2010.
This year still lacks a big profile release for the PS3(Uncharted is good, but it doesn't have the Halo or Mario legacy attached to it like ODST or NSMB Wii). Plus, Sony's 1st half of 2010 is already PACKED with 1st party games - MAG(Jan), White Knight(Feb), GOW3(March), and Heavy Rain(early 2010) so there's absolutely no point in releasing the game during that period.

I played the Uncharted 2 multiplayer for like 5 hours last night, it's balls to the walls awesome. Now I have a dilemma, though: Uncharted 2 demo or MAG beta?

Best mission ever: Mission 8 - Shattered Skies in Ace Combat 4. I remember you start fighting, then the Yellows come and start shooting all your allies down, everyone's like 'OH CRAP WE CAN'T WIN!". The I shot one of them down and rallied the whole team to win the mission. EPIC!

I'm actually pretty excited that the new FM game will be an action game. I love the old strategy games, but I think there appeal is becoming increasingly limited. If this can strike the mark between Armored Core and Zone of the Enders, that would be AMAZING.
500,000 is a huge number for Japan. They've only sold 3 million there across 3 years, so 500K in December would be an 1/6 increase in the user base in just one mere month.

The fact that the 4 games that are in the top 30 weren't there before shows that games are being sold. Plus, could be lots of used game sales too.

The thing is with Natal, it's not like the Wii, so it won't be as familiar to the Wii crowd as the PS3's wands would be. Not dismissing Natal, it's way more innovative than Sony's wand is, but it just doesn't have as many options to do Wii/PS3 type games because it's a different set up.
