"Edgy" while still giving it an above average score? I hate polygon as much as the next guy but you people need to seriously get it out of your head that everything needs a 9 or 10 to be good.

Also, there would be very little difference with how Nintendo games would be on another console. Maybe some extra AA would be accomplished. The graphics would still be the same as it seems Nintendo is the only of the three...

Flash cards can hold well over 100 gigs of data. Modern games are 30 or so due to terrible compression to deter pirates. You do the rest of the math.
Video games are toys in general. Just so happens some of them are for adults. Also just so happens that these adults are too embarrassed to play something that doesn't seem "mature" enough.

Why wouldn't they hold the same? It's a medium of storage. We have video (Magnetic) tape that can hold 185 TB from Sony. Mind you, they're not even cartridges. That technology has been obsolete well over a decade. They could go so far as to even use SD cards, although some proprietary medium may be best. Who knows.

As you mention, it's a trade off. The trade off with disk is that the read time is slower. A laser reading tiny bubbles on that liquid surface can only read them so quickly.

You have to consider that flash carts still read faster than optical media. It's awesome that storage sizes are increasing, but that still has to be read with a laser.

For all we know, flash carts could easily be within the same price range as bluray disks BULK. Manufacturers make deals all the time for these things.
Playstation Portable, one of my favorite handhelds used disks. UMDs to be precise.
What is stupid? They're much better than Disks. They read much faster and can store equal amounts of data. How did I know the top comment would be filled with ignorance.
At that point you're better off just building your own computer. I see no point in purchasing a tower sized gpu enclosure just to game on a laptop that will be outdated faster than consoles.
Should it have been hidden for trolling? Probably not. Can I see why it was hidden for trolling? Yes. You're undermining a very consumer oriented feature by saying that people can just pay more money for what they already own. It doesn't surprise me that front page members of this website saw that as trolling.

No, this is not good. Who is to say that this won't affect legitimate copies because they weren't purchased from X or Y source but instead of Z? Let alone the moral implications of now deciding what is or isn't on your computer.

As I said, I hate polygon as much as the next guy, specifically for all of those reasons you listed and then some (majority of their staff complains about sexualization of everything). However, complaining about an above average review score just annoys me.
