"Frame rate taxes the CPU"
No wonder people think frame rate isn't important, they literally have no idea what components of a computer affect what parts of a game.
Anyone with half a brain, yes. Too bad most of the people discussing this topic have less than that or think that frame rate is graphically related and thus has no impact on gameplay. I've had games drop (due to network related issues) to 30 frames before and my performance fell with them also.
"There will apparently be no micro-transactions"
You mean like Overkill promised?
Man, I never thought I would agree with Angryjoe, but I find myself completely on his side in this. That Dice artist has dashed any respect I may have had for that company.
But be careful Foxtrot, as the mindless masses will tell you to "Get over, just be happy we're getting a battlefront" or to "Get used to change and deal with it."
"Ancient technology"
And why is that that tournament goers all over prefer to use "ancient technology" then?
Games are no more complex than they were a decade ago. They just have some prettier graphics.
What, you weren't impressed with the radiant AI? The infinite quests? Or those mountains you saw that you could climb?
The generational leap from the 360/PS3 to One/PS4 was tiny. Expect the generational leap for the future consoles to be the same. Maybe they'll be 1080/60 standard at least.
This is impossible and you damn well know it. The wow factor from N64 games was the jump to 64 bit 3D models.
"Achievements/Trophy/Stre aming apps"
Why do you console gamers want nothing but homogeneity in your consoles? At this point you may as well ask all three companies to form a single gaming division together.
"Catch up to the twins"
Did you forget the success Nintendo had last generation? Or are you going to just dismiss that as a "gimmick" while disregarding the gimmick of some other consoles.
@Septic
Oh my, it has free DLC? You mean content that could have shipped with the game? That's so nice of them.
@emz99
I've never owned any of the previous Halo titles, but I used to play them regularly with my friends. Even within the past year we played Reach/Halo 4 splitscreen and it's always been a blast.
You know what else is old? Games today having less features than games from a decade ago.
Are you just trolling? The older generation are spoiled for wanting to share? While the younger generation having to have their own consoles aren't spoiled?
I'll take both. And (although I dislike the game) even when playing Halo 4 there were constantly people in games (including my friends and I) all playing splitscreen multiplayer. All they would have to do is turn down some of the graphical fidelity. I don't understand why so many console gamers can't live without a game having these unnecessary graphical features while just barely meeting minimum FPS/Resolution standards.
Wait, so EA is good now because they included a few game modes that should be standard in most shooters?
"How is it possible"
Genetically inherited perhaps. Cancer is irrelevant to age. It's literally just cells that forgot how to die. you can get it at any age.
"The negatives are small compared to the positives"
That's stretching it. You name inconsistent AI, repetitive gameplay (to the point that you're tired of it after a certain amount of play time), and in your opinion a story that would be better if you just made your own. You have very odd standards for what warrants an "amazing" score. I understand this is just your opinion of the game but this is the same as IGN's "10/10, it's okay&qu...
"Solid, but not metal gear solid"
And that still warrants a 9/10??? You gave a decent amount of negatives also.
@bitbyDeath
Frames go up with GPU primarily, not CPU. The CPU does make a difference but that is also primarily for separate calculations. Otherwise upgrading from a 1 gig card to a 4 gig wouldn't have tripled my frame rate in certain games.
