"Ruse cruise continues"
Quality title right there.
"Solid but not the greatest"
And still receives an 8.5 out of 10?
Regarding your TLOU comment, that game was an obvious cash crab if you couldn't tell. They made all effort to make it seem as if the game wasn't dropping for the upcoming PS4. Once they got as many sales as they could from PS3, is when they revealed the PS4 "remaster".
In regards to why they didn't go down Microsoft's route; well, that would take more money then they're willing to spend on a remaster. Remember, these are games that came out a ge...
Or it's just easier to disagree and move on instead of risking your bubble pissing off a site-wide hivemind.
"Put gaming in general to a much higher level"
How? It was a story driven third person action adventure game with a decent multiplayer experience. At least when I completed Uncharted: Drake's Fortune I was left with a bit of a "wow" factor. I don't think I've played the campaign more than once. Multiplayer at least attracted my and a few other people's attentions for quite a bit.
"want more grown up quality experiences"
Mature is a description, not a quality. A person who is mature is also typically a person who isn't childish enough to only be able to enjoy things that are "grown up". In fact, that's the quality of a child; only being interested in doing grown up things to seem grown up.
"Because they looked at today's standards"
If that is the case, why is Super Mario 64 so high up there? According to many (I don't share this thought) the game aged badly.
GTAV had less impact on me than San Andreas of even IV did (and IV was very overrated). GTAV is not top 5 in any shape or form unless you began playing video games two years ago.
@godmars
How exactly is the PS4 going to render two instances of GTAV at the resolution/FPS required for a non-nauseating VR experience?
VR is never going to engage the public. The bulky headset along with that price point will just never catch on. Not to mention that it's going to be similar to how the Power Glove or Virtual Boy is/was. It will have to have dedicated games designed for it. The advantage PC has is that games can be reworked to run for Oculus. It's not the best but it can happen. Games like Killzone will never run on the Playstation VR.
A complete game is fine. Proper DLC/Expansions are fine also. I used to purchase expansions for plenty of my games. The content has to be worth it though and the base game has to be a full product.
Master race? Please. Pixel graphics artist's/fans are incredibly critical of work such as this. Pixel are is a very respected art style that is absolutely gorgeous when time and effort is put into it. I personally want pokemon to return to the pixel art style, just with updated/detailed sprites.
"even though I know it maybe completely broken when it releases"
I'm sorry to use you as an example; but this is a primary reason as to why gamers are the worst consumers (great for business though) out there.
@GribbleGrunger
I have bad news for you. Alpha testing and beta testing no longer mean what you think. Alpha testing is glorified bug testing. Everything is relatively complete. Beta testing is simply stress testing. This has held true for the last decade that I've been "fortunate" enough to get into many alphas/betas.
If anything this could mean we'll see more Rare-style takes on voices. The Ex Rare devs voiced all their own characters.

@madforaday
Well, the mighty madforaday; the claim was that people purchase it because they feel compelled to experience it for themselves. I'm dispelling that argument by offering my own stance that is counter to that. Therefore dispelling the argument, the mighty madforaday.
"Actually they do my friend because people get tempted to play it themselves"
So, shall I dispel your sound argument? I watched Until Dawn on youtube. I no longer feel compelled to play the game myself.
"Enjoy the ride"
Considering that even Harrison Ford thinks negatively of the remakes of his own movies, they speaks quite clearly of the quality of them.
That's precisely how I view the upcoming Battlefront title; not necessarily that it's going to be good but rather it should have been a new IP. And similarly to how you feel, not because there's been any sort of evolution, but a devolution in gameplay.
In reply to your RPG classification; RPGs are classified they same way animation is. Anime is from Japan. JRPGs are from Japan. You mention Cowboy Bebop; it's a western themed anime. It's a parallel to the romanticized wild west with characters such as Spike playing as their version of Cowboys (bounty hunters) except it takes place in space.
