You don't know the first thing about PSN. Give it up. XBL is superior in chat. That's it. Games perform as well on either service.

What the hell are 'pre-maddanas'?

I've fully paid for two copies. One for me, and one as a gift to my bro.

Come on Tut, this thread isn't about Bethesda making a business decision, it's more fuel for the console war flame.

In the future, I kindly ask that you notice these things and stop bringing logic and sensibility where it's clearly not wanted.

You may now return to your PC mods for Fallout 3.

'That pretty green sure won't be there'

You're forgetting the beautiful green afterglow.

Spoony, maybe there's legitimate business reasons, beyond preference, like market potential, cost vs profit, etc.

The CEO of McDonalds doesn't have to like the McFish sandwich for their stores to sell it.

Gotta disagree with you there FarEast. The MGS level pack for LBP is awesome.

These look pretty cool. I know one will eventually find itself hanging from my rear view mirror. Hopefully they'll be able to make some of the game themed sack boys, like MGS, Motorstorm, Ape Escape, etc.

They're coming around out of necessity, not out of choice. If they continue to spew the same garbage that has been spewed, they'll just look all the more stupid. Trying to save face will almost always cause people to back pedal and turn 180 degrees.

HD, and people conveniently forget that GG built a game engine, and judging from the demo and beta, an awesome one at that, in that same time frame. An engine that can be licensed to other studios (at GG's and Sony's option of course) and recoup some of that investment.

How fast would one be called out, if the time it took to come from nothing to UE3.5 was considered to be part of Gears 2 development time? It would of course be a ridiculous argument, but some can only see tha...

IdleLee, you must have the most piss poor time management ever imagined. Everyone (well almost), showers, shaves, eats, sh!ts, etc. If it bothered me that much, I'd load a new game and let it install whist I perform one of the aforementioned activities. It doesn't require a triple digit IQ, or godly powers of multitasking to achieve. In fact, in the time you took to read the article and post, you could have installed a game.

That's a weak argument gnothe1.

Every movie that is sold at retail is not the property of the retailer. Why should the distribution method, digital or physical make a difference? If MS wanted to make a deal to be able to sell movies they could, just as they made the deal to sell other companies software.

And who knows, maybe they're hard at work on that deal already.....

And by the way, EA doesn't OWN any of those rights. They license them for ...

DD also kills any 'after value' a game may have, something I don't think people are going to want to lose. Just look at the used game business GameStop does. It would also hurt publishers and devs ability to sell premium editions, with the little extras a lot of people like. I don't see DD becoming the primary distribution method anytime soon.

As I stated elsewhere in this thread:

'Now clearly, MS should've thought of the negative publicity involved, and weighed that against the amount of over-compensation. I personally wouldn't have the heart to ask for the money back, unless the amounts were so high, it would cripple the company (likely NOT the case with MS), as I have the well-being of my retained employees to consider.'

I'm not defending MS. I've stated only dire circumstances could force me to do...

In the broader sense of ethics, of which you speak, you would also have to take into account motivation, not just end result. Does anyone truly believe MS's sole reason for doing this is to break it off in the ass of former employees? To use the greed angle just doesn't work in my opinion. Since the purpose of business is to profit, all companies in good times and bad could be seen as greedy, therefore making that too broad and weak an argument.

Ethics can deal in shades of ...

Death, I didn't take it that way. Had they used year's, instead of year I would be in complete agreement with you. I guess it could have been written less ambiguously, but where would the fanboys be without ambiguity fanning the flames?

Look I feel bad for those laid off from every company. As an employee who is more highly compensated (because of my skill and dedication) than my counterparts, I am fully aware that I may be on the chopping block, if my company needs to downsize. Companies often discard higher compensations, in favor of retaining lower ones.

But ethics, come on? Do you know what the word means? It's a system of principles, of right and wrong, of values. Under what circumstances would you c...

It's not always the lowest level of employee that gets laid off, because they are the least compensated. Often it's midlevel, skilled employees, and long term employees that get axed due to their higher compensation packages. Then companies split those responsibilities among lower level, lower skilled employees, and the workplace becomes hell for everyone.

A question for everyone hating on MS. If they underpaid, would you expect them to do the right thing, and properly compe...
