Yup, I wanted Dragon Age and was tempted a few times, but decided to wait. It paid off, and all I have to do now is wait for the ultimate edition to drop to $20-30, nah... I think I will wait for the eventual $20!
Bubble up!
Must be all the chicks on this site!
I think it is going to be more towards the people that would typically buy a PSP Go, but wants a phone as opposed to the iPhone crowd. The Android people don't really care for games as far as I can tell.
I'm not sold on 3D as it currently stands, the TV cost more and requires me to wear glasses. On top of that, I don't feel well after viewing 3D content.
Maybe if I get compelling content in the future, but as of now I see no reason to spend another $1000-2000 and at least $100+ per glasses (that I have to wear on top of my normal nearsighted glasses).
The glasses alone is a deal killer for me, but maybe they can do it without glasses in 5-years for up...
I don't think that the price hike is necessarily related to the new features. Those costs have mostly been absorbed already.
I think it is more related to inflation and the fact that MS CAN charge you more. Let's face it, $50 8-9 years ago is a lot more than now, dont'cha think?
Most companies charge whatever they think they can get away with. Why do you think PS Move, Wii, and so on is priced the way it is? All these products make a profit, and ...
... and now she is much happier without you!
Actually, I think some good indicators are:
a) If PS Move Starter bundle starts selling out. There is too much noise in the PS Move wand sales to determine if it came from new users that owned a PS Eye camera, or if it simply are people buying seconds, thirds and fourths. Some games do require two wands to fully enjoy.
b) If prices on eBay goes higher than MSRP and DO sell to their local customers i.e. not shipping it overseas. That means people can't fin...
I'm not sure if you caught this, "Saying PS Eye is the same as Kinect technology", but I clearly said "Kinect technology". Perhaps I'm not the one with reading comprehension issue.
"In the end, they've got a glorified PS3 Eye with a depth sensor added onto it, something they still haven't utilized properly."
This alone tells me you don't seem to understand that the jewel of Kinect is the software combined with...
I definitely can't wait for Kinect, but understand some don't want an extra accessory that they have to part $150 for.
The good news, Kinect is optional!
LOL!
"I didn't say squat about the Move. I used the PS3 Eye as a clear example of the exact same technology that's used with Kinect. I also have experience with both to make such a comparison, though Kinect only for about 20 minutes of hands-on time. "
Well, I apologize, I meant to say PS Eye. I guess I lop PS Move and PS Eye togheter since they are they are a dependent on each other.
It surprises me that you talk about technology, yet you have n...
I can't wait to try out the Beta Dash today!
It's not up yet!?
"But, more importantly, this topic isn't about what people like or don't like, it's about the technology and what was removed from it."
That is why above you just made huge rant about how great the PS Move is and how you love Sony's direction with the PS3?
"In the end, the result is a slightly improved PS3Eye camera with software to back it up. Sony could have wasted their time developing software to navigate the XMB with your h...
All I have to say is, I want the best technology for a price I can afford. I don't give a damn that the latest super computer can process super mega flops if I can't get it on my desk for $500 and that it meets my needs.
@Shadow Flare
If you have issues with only getting half the game, perhaps you should read the fine print that clearly states the requirements!

I think you are SOL, because I'm pretty sure MS were very specific about the dashboard should only be downloaded to the console you registered it on otherwise you won't be able to connect to Xbox Live afterwards.
I suggest you update your console information online if possible at the Microsoft Connect site or go back to using your old console for now.
Hopefully the dashboard will only be pushed out if your serial number matches.
I'm sure MS would want that. It wouldn't make sense otherwise.
Probably some licensing and legal issues involved. Perhaps you should take it up with ISP, why they aren't agreeing to the terms?
UK get's SKY!
and why is it bad to downgrade technology to have a reasonable cost for adoption by consumers?
If anything, time and time again, consumers have shown that not the best technology wins, but the one providing a good function to price ratio.
In fact, I would argue that if MS had introduced pricier technology and failed it would actually hurt the industry. Why? Simply because it would appear consumer demand for this type of product isn't there, when in fact i...
Man MS is really pushing other entertainment media lately on their Xbox. Sky, ESPN and now this!
We already got Zune, Netflix and Last.fm.
