I will also add like Megaman_nerd is saying, that more RAM can also overcome faster RAM, by allowing pre-loading of the data before you need it.
A perfect of example of this is with Rage on PS3 (256MB VRAM) and Xbox 360 (up to 512MB RAM). There are far less texture pop-ups on the Xbox 360, despite the faster RAM on PS3.
PS3 even with faster RAM, needs to load the texture from hard drive first (which is roughly a magnitude slow...

***It's funny you mention that No single company can fight a large collective of hackers determined, but then demand MS to take reasonable security measures to protect your data. If the group is determined to hack, then reasonable just won't protect your data or anyone else's for that matter.***
I realized it when I said that it *seemed* contradictory. However, "reasonable" means not trivially hacked with SQL injection (for inst...
I'm certainly curious to see what Wii U is offering. I'm most concerned about Nintendo Network though....
I agree, this is stupid and most likely untrue.
Never say never.
No single company can fight a large collective of hackers determined. However, I demand MS to make reasonable security measures to protect my data. If you can't protect it, don't take my information!
That said, the video also said Sony Playstation Network, starting at 0:44 seconds:

@EVILDEAD360
I agree with you for the most part, but I don't think Sony will release a PS4 at the same time as the next Xbox unless MS delays the release until 2014.
It is simple, Sony hasn't been able to recoup the cost on PS3 yet and they just release the PS Vita so will be focusing on that.
Sony isn't in a healthy financial state, nor is their business healthy overall so making major releases back to back like that isn't s...
@Tanir
***yeah remember when people said that kinect was gonna be a win for gamers?***
Kinect has been a win to me as I enjoy a lot of the stuff Kinect has enabled. I like the fact that when MS sells you an add-on, they make sure to support it well.
In terms of games for next year, MS is delivering more than they are this year. On top of my head we got Halo 4, Ryse, Fable: The Journey, a host of other XBLA games...
That said,...
The incentive is NOT to use Bing on Xbox 360, but to use Bing on PC.
There is no "search engine usage reward" on console.
@darkride66
I thought it was clear that the 9-10 million was a rounding during discussions here on n4g.com.
Can you show me where MS said they sold/shipped 10 million consoles?
MS officially reported 57.6 million consoles sold at the end of September, and they said 66 million sold at the end of December. That makes it 8.2 million sold consoles.
Because, the rounding is what we did here on n4g.com. I have never seen any websit...
I think MS might have dominated worldwide as well...
I don't think anyone else shipped more than 8.3 million consoles worldwide this past quarter.
@EVILDEAD360
I didn't know darkride66 was so upset he wrote a whole article about it. Let's just say, that my experience with him is that he is very much anti-Microsoft and potentially pro-Sony.
Now that the financial report is out, I wonder if he will retract his comment and update his article, or still continue to make accusations which I think is ridiculous since the numbers do add up.
MS *sold*, that is right sold and not shipped, 3.4 million consoles in the US alone as reported by NPD.
To put that in perspective, in the roughly same period, Sony shipped 3.9 million PS3 consoles WW and that is after a recent price cut.

MS said 57.6 million consoles sold at the end of September, and later reported 66 million as of this past quarter.
http://www.digitaltrends.co...
That means, they sold around 8.3 million consoles for the quarter. People were rounding the numbers.
@SilentNegotiator
Getting into the nitty gritty! It's a dedicated chip for audio.
"TechInsights' teardown uncovered within Kinect a Marvell PXA 168 applications processor, a part usually found in notebook computers."
"Regardless, Microsoft has created a product that takes full advantage of all its components to provide an innovative gaming experience."

... and how good where those voice recognition? I own Endwar and it's voice processing isn't nearly as good as it is on Kinect.
Also, how do you know the technical quality of the game as is didn't take a hit due to voice recognition?
As I said, the more *accurate* voice recognition is, the more processing power and larger data set is required.
It's the equivalent of calling a webcam the same as Kinect (i.e. 3D camera) or Stand...
*Accurate* voice processing is rather costly both on processing power and data set (affecting RAM). Kinect provides the processing power and MS probably provides a nice SDK for it.
As Mass Effect executive producer Casey Hudson from Bioware says:
"Kinect’s internal hardware is what makes it possible, not just its microphones."
wtf? ... lol
You know, smart parents can have children that do stupid things. I guess you must have been one of those kids that *never* did anything stupid....
No, they all prefer stale sequelitis!
I play them all.
I can just push a button and the game will play itself.
Why then do we prefer to press multiple buttons and spend a lot of time playing the game?
It's because it is potentially more fun.
It's the same argument as on third person shooters using a mouse/keyboard gives a better control, yet the vast majority prefers a game pad.
The answer then is because it is potentially more fun, more immersive and allows you to do t...
