It certainly does depend on who you ask. If they're a sheep who blindly follows whatever Microsoft does out of sheer fanboy mentality, they're buying the X-bone.
If they're anyone else, they're buying a PS4.
They are experiencing "Engineering problems" with the game. Coding issues, getting their engine to cooperate in the PS3 development environment, it's complicated stuff, so much so that the dev team can't figure it out.
They really need to give up and go to PS4, which has a much more dev friendly environment to code in. It's going to be a tough decision but it's the right one.
It's simple, consoles aren't as profitable as Msoft would like them to be, so they need to creatively come up with new revenue streams, and if that means restricting things that used to save consumers money like family packs, then too F'n bad consumers, you need to pay. This is what gave birth to the used games debacle - it was another way to increase the revenue stream.

It's because shipping is so expensive in Europe, everyone has a union, it's not like the rest of the world. Australia is even more expensive, they pay almost double for everything because of the huge shipping and supply chain costs.
You have to wonder what kind of credentials the so called writers at IGN have to analyze the financial situation of a company. My guess: probably not, which is a lot more likely than any of the guesses you'll see coming out of IGN.
Microsoft makes money on hidden fees, this is the revenue model they used for every console, it's nothing new, and if you think it's new then their plan worked, you ignored all the smaller hidden costs that easily accumulate over time.
The problem is their marketing budgets are wayyyy too high, and the salaries their CEO's demand are also wayyyyy too high, so profit for the companies goes down the tubes. The industry has become too incensed, with trying to injure all other companies involved instead of creating your own market the way Nintendo did. Sony and Msoft were too busy fighting each other head on trying to capture the exact same demographics to realize they were never going to escape that fight unscathed. Price ...

Even the Ballad of Gay Tony spinoff game was 720p on PS3, they fixed the issues even on the same engine for the DLC episodes.
If you got that excited it's because marketing campaigns work. Sony knows its consumer fanbase and how to get them excited, and there are different ways to get different fanbases excited. It just so happens that some people have the mentality of a 3 year old and get overly nuts over nothing, so they can only blame themselves :p
lol what a stupid article, if you have PC then you'll probably be spending $1000 on your next graphics card upgrade or whatever, if you're buying a console it's probably because you bought the last gen console and want to upgrade.
Really, you can't build a PC for $399 that runs games as well as the PS4 does, you just can't even if you build it yourself.

It will likely end up being like the PS2 HD collections we get, reserved for the best games only. The PS2 classics library on PSN brought a lot of less popular games that didn't have huge marketing campaigns into a larger audience as well, so at least some games that were released alongside other massively marketed games can have a chance at some success.

What people don't get is that Saints Row has always been a parody of the times. back in the days of SR 1 and 2, it was parodying GTA with more gangster stuff.
