Exactly. The screaming piss heads already exist. I had more than one instance where I had to mute people while playing AC4 online on my PS4. Half of them were because some whiny kid was cussing up another older, but equally immature player and the other half were people with open mics that were just outputting endless background noise.
By limiting chat to Fireteams, you can still have organized co-op and team play without the issues above.

That is what I went with to begin with. I weighed each of the classes during the Alpha and Warlock stood out for me. Their unique "glide" ability can be useful too while exploring.
I still plan on playing with some of the other classes, but probably once the game actually releases.
If Destiny ends up being very successful on PlayStation platforms, Activision may be more open to licensing out the IP for Sony's studios to make or maybe even a joint development project between Sony's studios and Activision's studios.
As long as there is enough demand anything could happen.
Activision may be almost as evil/prickish as EA, but if there is enough money to be made I'm sure they would follow through.
Right now i...
This makes the $9.99 price a little better. I have a PS3, PS4, and a Vita and was considering this game before this, but couldn't quite get over the $9.99 price for just the PS4. Now that it's cross-buy I may be all over this.
@baodeus You completely missed Jim's point. He's not complaining that they left all that stuff out and being hypocritical. He's making a point that from the standpoint that Microsoft had to sacrifice every bit of its original vision (which he still didn't agree with) makes the console a failure - these are facts. The complaint is that Microsoft is not fessing up to those failures and lies and are sweeping it under the rug and Microsoft are touting themselves as heroes -- they ...
I love Jim and Yahtzee from Escapist. Both of them (aside from their entertaining accents) say what we are all thinking. Yes, they have an opinion sometimes, but they are very clear when they are stating an opinion and a fact.
For this one video, Jim stated MANY facts concerning the Xbox One. When you consider everything Microsoft wanted the Xbox One to be originally to what it is now it is by all sense of the term a failure. Not one single "feature" of the original...
I understand the naming issue, but I'd still respect both sports.
Honestly, American football has become insanely competitive, especially college football (even more so in the south-east US).
On another note, how would you like a 300-400 refrigerator to come running at you full speed? Yeah...
On topic: This story (and Polygon) are a waste of time. No duh they are going to change the jersey - it's a conflict of interest.
Actually there is partial USB hard drive support, but it is limited to export of data, not expansive storage.
You can format a drive to FAT or exFAT and export videos and content from the PS4 and import content into SHAREFactory, but yeah no permanent storage or media playback.
The developers have to cater their game to run on a variety of hardware and usually have to set a "minimum spec" to make sure they get enough sales. So don't blame the devs for being lazy and relying on the modding community.
What is the point of making a PC game for high-end $5000+ hardware as the minimum when less than 1% of the PC gaming community would be able to play it. That would be financial suicide.
Having games open to modding like thi...

Hey now, this kind of motivates me to want to install Fallout 3 and New Vegas again.
I haven't taken the time to try out Fallout 3 with some of these high res glorification mods yet on my newer desktop with dual Radeon 7770s.
I currently have only gone trough Skyrim and Bioshock Infinite on this machine. New Vegas and Fallout 3 were played on my older computers with much less graphical umph.
@SonofGod
"I'd like to see your reaction if Naughty Dog went multiplat and Xbox got exclusives."
Bad example. Sony owns NaughtyDog because they proved to be a viable studio with lots of talent.
You should have used Insomniac in your example. The problem with that is Insomniac has been mediocre since their 4th or 5th iteration of Ratchet and Clank. Fuse was a complete bomb. Because of this PlayStation supporters are less up in arms about ...
@Bizzare21
The $200 price point is based on the rumored price for the standalone Kinect 2.0 for PC. People are doing this because the standalone Kinect for 360 was fairly close in price to the one for PC.
You can be assured it will retail alone for more than $100, most realistically $150 (incentivising purchasing it with the console up front with $50 of savings and also effectively making PC users shell out $50 more for the adapters to connect it to their PC)...
@fenome
"That's already like $140 worth of content for $50 (whether you enjoy it or not is your thing) and the year is only half over. That's just on the PS4, this doesn't even touch on what's on the PS3 or Vita on top of it. Of course they're all small titles at this point, the console just came out. Over time though, they'll start rolling out bigger titles as well. Dollar for dollar it's worth it any way you look at it though.. "
As far as the cars and tracks are concerned, this is 100% arcade. The cars cannot be modified (like in a sim) to insure a fixed playing field and fair competition. The tracks have been "modified" so that you can take turns at much higher speeds than normally possible (for tracks inspired by real locations) and the physics have been "loosened" a bit to also allow for unrealistic turn speeds -- all traits of arcade racers.
However the dynamic weather and tim...
It really depends on if the PS4 (and PS3) support something similar to TRIM to hold off writes until a full block can be written.
Regardless, modern SSDs have been manufactured to fail at such a slow rate you can easily get 4-5 years of use with constant reads and writes (it's the writes that do more damage) before too many blocks die causing total drive failure.
I imagine Hybrid Drives have fail-safes that just do not use the cache as much if the SSD deg...
Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls were both spectacular games visually. However, I'm inclined to agree with everyone else that Heavy Rain had a much better story (even if a couple of the characters were "broken").
Beyond Two Souls story squandered its potential very early on. It was promising for about 3-4 chapters, but once you get beyond (no pun intended) that point the story begins to fall apart and looses TONS of momentum. If you "abridged" the story...
Nintendo has good, well made first party games, but this is also one of their biggest downfalls (and not just in this generation, this issue goes back to the NES days). Nintendo has a way of alienating third-parties, leaving first party games being the only options (well... also toss in some 2nd party gems as well) to keep the system afloat. Nintendo knows this is the case and "throttles" their first party releases in order to re-surge sales when they slump, they did it with the Gam...
"How long will it be till they start shipping hollow cases that just stream games to us."
PlayStion Now says hi. :) It'll be on the PlaySationTV (VitaTV) once it hits.

"Mind-share has already been won, and the X1 is simply seen as an inferior, or second-rate purchase."
No denying Sony has won over the mind share, but I think it has more to do with Microsoft's anti-consumerism than anything else. Microsoft flipped the bird to everyone and despite everything they have done to backtrack the fact that they did it in the first place has caused them to loose any and all consumer trust. This type of blund...
