Yep. It's paid for cheats people. Ubi was not the first to do this - EA did this when the PS3 launched. Too lazy to play the game, pay us money to unlock everything now and beat the game for you.

I don't get the mentality of this (people actually spending money for these cheats) because you essentially just gave free money to the publisher and also took ANY sense of accomplishment out of really playing the game and actually earning any of those rewards with your own w...

It's more b**ching and whining about the lack of good rewards and instead of the rewards system being fixed Bungie is concentrating on fixing "cheesers" either in Raids, Strikes, or wherever as well as nerfing Exotic weapons because they are too overpowered in the Crucible.

It think the solution to overpowered Exotics (at least if they are as easy to obtain as some are) is not to nerf them completely, but just nerf/nullify their bonus effects ONLY in the Crucibl...

I'm fine with either as long as they can act the part. They both are already close enough in look. The only question is can they deliver a good performance worthy of the one portrayed in the game?

All the Helix credit stuff (the micro-transactions) are paid for cheats. They existed in Black Flag's multiplayer for those that didn't want to grind for days or weeks building up the normal in-game credits to unlock stuff.

Granted there are pieces of gear in Unity that cost a whopping 140,000-160,000 in-game credits to unlock via the normal path, but only 1,000 or so Helix credits to "hack" open. This may be tempting to those with highly disposable income t...

At least the game is still somewhat playable. What is pissing me off is that the linked services (the Unity Companion App and Initiates through UPlay) are complete and total utter trash right now.

Initiates worked fairly well a few months after Black Flag's release. Now it has taken twenty steps backwards from what it was.

The companion app has been rendered completely useless due to an Assassin-less glitch where you literally have NO assassins available ...

Sony and Nintendo report "sold through" numbers on their fiscal reports.

Microsoft reports "shipped" numbers on their reports.

It just how the businesses are run -- Japanese vs American. The Japanese businesses do not like to lie to their investors with "shipped" numbers because of how the culture is and has always been.

Farming Legendaries to dismantle, constantly playing Strike lists, or playing public events for the hope to get Ascent Energy or Shards takes some serious time to get enough material to fully level armor and weapons.

I already have over 40+ hours in a level 27 Warlock, with my Titan and Hunter following suit. I've only gotten enough on my Warlock to fully level one Armor piece and almost fully level one Exotic weapon.

Frankly, I've just dealt with wha...

I did say that on its own Beyond Two Souls did well.

It cannot be argued however that Heavy Rain was the more successful of the two since Heavy Rain had a stupidly low development cost compared to the money it raked in.

Very Low Investment + Very High Return = Highly Successful

Beyond had a higher cost solely because of two big name actors being attached to the game. Trust me when I say that Page and Defoe did not come cheap -- their salaries...

@gangsta_red

Infamous Second Son concentrated on particle effects. When you go to photo mode while using the powers or during explosions you'll get it. They even rendered the tiniest little screws coming off destroyed objects -- these show up again in the photo mode shots. This is why Second Son was lacking in the number of people on screen.

Frankly, photo mode is so damn awesome Sony should incorporate it into their core dev kits so every game developed ...

No the Nomad Companion Mini-game. There are 4 "Premium" assassins that have full Attack, Defense, and Stealth potential in the Nomad minigame. Each assassin in the minigame has these three stats, but some of the assassins only have stats that go so far.

Considering the minigame's rewards cross-pollinate into Unity this isn't so much of a bad thing.

There is also this misconception that the $500M Bungie had budgeted was for Destiny alone...it was for the Destiny franchise (aka. 3-4 games, content, and advertising as well as startup funds as an independent developer).

I would love to see Bungie's official financial report showing how much they have truly spent on making the first game so far (not the future budget of the franchise) as I bet it was a tenth of the $500M planned for the entire series.

Compared to Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls did fail.
http://www.joystiq.com/2013...

I'd like to think that Heavy Rain's success bankrolled Beyond Two Souls so that it didn't have to be as successful.

However on its own the game did fairly well. I enjoyed it, though the story felt lacking a little bit.

I'm passing on Rogue and getting Unity.

1) Unity is next-gen (or should we say current gen now)
2) Rogue's price will most likely drop really quick in the coming months
3) 2 Assassin's games at the same time is too much

You'll miss out on the community events and coop missions, but there is no telling how much of the game is dependent on these until the game launches and more people complete it.

Judging by Assassin Creed IV (it had community events - white whales and additional chests) you won't be missing much, but again the coop missions are the unknown factor.

If you are referring to people not getting the patch, it may be a glitchy mess, but even people with the ...

It could possibly be because of voice actors being French-Canadian. The game is developed primarily by Ubisoft Montreal, so this would make sense.

Frankly I'd rather have French-Canadian accents over no French accents at all or even worse fake French accents by very non-French actors.

I don't have a problem with it. I also don't lay down on the trigger, even with Auto Rifles. I use short pulses with the Full Autos to avoid their "bouncy" nature. I also reserve using the Machine Gun for BIG enemies, shielded enemies or large crowds.

As far as taking down shields, head shots and body shots don't matter until the shield is down, so just concentrate on center mass. I usually do this and then switch to my primary weapon once the shield is ...

You do know that Sony is more than a company right?

They are even more than a corporation...they are a conglomerate.

Sony started as an electronics company, but has grown and diversified into so many markets it isn't funny. Their music, movie, and gaming divisions could float them for decades. Sony Pictures is one of the "Big Six" studios and from time to time has had the largest share of the movie industry at around 2...

You do know From Software is a small developer that does not have the ability to publish their own games worldwide right? Most of their games are released in Japan first and sometimes ONLY.

I'm still enjoying Destiny. I keep going back to it time and time again.

@Blues
If you see Destiny only for its slot machine RNG, then you are clearly missing the point. For the majority of people going back to Destiny it is for the fun of leveling (yes this is a thing for some) and the smoothness/responsiveness of the FPS gameplay.

The Crucible is not terrible and more than decent as far as PvP goes. Yes, it is not perfect, but nothing is. For me...
