I still have an Ipod in a drawer, but it's not like I would ever use it. Why would I carry that around when I have a phone that plays music in higher quality with better battery life?
They couldn't launch at that price because they were saddled with the Kinect which was costing them the extra $150. And at launch they I'm sure had already produced millions of the things and had contracts to make millions more.
They were financially obligated to sell probably 10+ million kinects.
They are selling their games for pennies, the other 95 games on gamepass aren't free. After they pay all the other companies their cut of the $10 I would question if they make anything at all. Let me do the math 100/10.00=.10 They are selling those 100 games for 10 cents each. 10 pennies.
It doesn't matter what you call the Switch it's outselling the xbox in the same time frame. This is like that silly argument where people don...
Did they actually sort out the hardware problem? Considering they are still getting outsold 3:1 by PS4 and 2:1 by Switch I think hardware is still a huge problem. Just having better graphics doesn't mean as much as you imply when the weakest console on the market is outselling them month after month.
And as for games by the time they get their act together (assuming they ever will by selling their games for pennies on gamepass) the next gen...
Attach rate is irrelevant compared to total sales.
Lets say xbox has 2 consoles and and 2 people buy it that's 100% attach rate. Now lets say Sony has 20 consoles and 10 people buy it that's 50% attach rate but 80% more total sales.
Attach rate doesn't generate revenue for Ubisoft sales do. PS4 is generating more money for Ubisoft.
I question how much Microsoft actually makes if anything selling game pass. They have all these games from other publishers that are taking a cut of every game pass sale. After all those cuts, you have to wonder what is actually left for Microsoft?
I am guessing they are basically giving their games away for free. With out MT's in these games it'll be interesting to see if this is actually a sustainable model.
I only own 1 EA game Mass Effect Andromeda 0 Activation games and the only WB game I own from this gen is Arkham Knight which I have never even installed but I got the pc version for $5.
Basically what I am saying is I don't buy games from these huge mega publishers who do this kind of stuff. I don't owe these companies my money, if they make things I want and sell them the way I like I will buy them.
With all eyes being on their games right now you'd think they would see the need for quality, at least fixing the bugs. But this is the same company that closed down more than 10 studios and canceled multiple big game projects in the same year that they only had two games to release and one of them was just the yearly Forza reskin.
