Well... I don't know if I'd choose the term "mid point". I would say "the peak" or "the prime" of the gen. The actual generation is probably at the start of moving from mid to end.
Where did you get your information that this rumored game was in full production last year in March? Because the only relevant information was that they were still hiring people for the project this year. And Phil according to his own words only started green lighting new projects sometime after E3 last year. His prior statement were along the lines of moving away from game creation and letting the third party handle the games. That's how they got ...
If MS wants to push gamepass no ownership all digital and GaaS gaming would be better off with out them. Let Sony and Nintendo fight it out. Maybe some other company that actually cares about gaming and making good games will join the mix.
And as for big pockets Microsoft has been advertising xbox all gen Europe and Asia don't want it and...
That's a terrible idea unless your talking about small tech demo's. The reality is since the launch it's safe to say that there are only 2 million X's in the wild.
Using vgchartz (which over tracks xbox) since November 2017 Microsoft has only sold 4 million xbox consoles. Now according to Microsoft the Slim is still the best selling console. So even is the X is 49.9999% of all sales that's only 2 million.
I don't feel bad at all. You only have to look at the things Phil has been saying and the decisions he has made since taking over.
When they decided to cancel big games like Scalebound and Fable ect. and close a bunch of studios in 2017 when they only had 2 games to launch then had the balls to say it was what was "best for the gamers". Then he then rolled into statements like GaaS was the future of gaming and single player wasn't relevant anymore right ...
Lets keep things in perspective even further, what was the marketing budget? What was the cost to manufacture a single player JRPG vs a massive server based game like Sea of Thieves. How much larger was the scope and number of people that worked on Sea of Thieves vs Ni No Kuni 2.
Let's be honest here a niche JRPG like Ni No Kuni 2 outselling what Microsoft for years billed as one of their biggest and most important games of the generation makes a pretty bad statement ...
Well... I mean the fact you had to pick Knack really shows how hard you were trying. Your comparing a big AAA game (SoT) that was shown at multiple E3's had a huge marketing campaign on both web and TV made by a big studio with over 200 people to a game like Knack
How about we compare it to God of War or Horizon or Uncharted 4.
It seems likely they will release them in the west, the series growth has been big in the west and after the release of Kiwami 1 & 2 it just makes sense.
I think Sega is really trying to turn Yakuza into their big series and that starts with getting the western $$$'s.
It's pretty tragic if the best exclusive on xbox (Quantum Break) has only achieved a 77 meta score.
And having read the comments in this thread it's also tragic that over and over the games people list as their view of xbox's best games are games that were released 3+ years ago.
They do have cool gameplay. Gameplay can be things other than aiming the center of the screen at a target quickly or jumping on a platform over and over.
We're not comparing fruit and ice cream. We are comparing video games. Both games which launched the exact same week. All those votes should help you realize that most people consider this a valid comparison.
I'm sorry is so hard for you to see Microsoft's biggest most marketed and hyped up release in the past couple years get beat by a niche JRPG with almost zero marketing.
EA does have more reliable data for console sales.
I'm sorry your hurt on both ends, xbox has sold less consoles than you thought and now a niche Japanese game outsold Microsoft's biggest release in years.
UK is just one region PS4 is popular in all of Europe and Japan/Asia add a lot to the sales of a game like this. Globally PS4 sells 3-4 times as much software as xbox. All this really shows is that using on...
