Title's a bit of stupid, I was downloading a game on my Vita as soon as this story broke, so it can't have been down everywhere. These sites need to stop jumping to conclusions.
@calibann - What do you mean? That XBL never goes down? Well that's bullshit because it has several times. Or that XBL doesn't get hacked? Which is also a little untrue because plenty of people have had their accounts hacked.
The main issue I have with anything like this, is that it isn't THAT hard to set up a decent conference. I mean, ANYBODY would have known what should and shouldn't be in the event, yet Nintendo seems to think people want to hear pointless prattle, and look at 1-year-old games on a new system.
Zelda is what excited everyone about the Wii U last year, and they didn't even show it this year. That was a no-brainer, you'd literally have to be as dumb as a doorknob...
MS usually don't do a conference at TGS, and since the second year, they haven't done one at GamesCom either. They usually still have a booth at both events though. Although, the fact that they aren't doing an event means that they have nothing to announce usually.
@lociefer - Yeah, it looks extremely similar, must be pre-recorded, which is kinda sad to see. In any case, at least the game has been shown to a wider audience now, which can only be a good thing.

Personally, I think he's trolling for sales. Basically, he wants people to think there won't be a sequel unless they buy Darksiders 2. Cheap, and pretty stupid tactic. I'm gonna get it any way, and I hope they don't cancel it, it is by far one of THQ's best IPs.

Yeah, it's not going to be released on July 14th, it's too early and Nintendo would have announced the date at E3 if it was that early. Also, price is too low, £249 might be plausible, but £199 is TOO cheap.
It's still surprising how much of an impact DQ has on hardware sales. I don't understand why Square don't release on systems other than Nintendo, it would do wonders for the sales if it was available on PS3 and Vita.

It doesn't even matter if it gets banned, Microsoft could simply jump the gun on the next gen, and this lawsuit will probably fall in line with the launch of the next gen anyway.
Wii U footage isn't direct feed and PS3 footage isn't HD quality. So, it doesn't really work as a comparison. One thing I will say is that the Wii U version looks incredibly dark. The shadows look very very harsh, I actually thought it was night time gameplay for a moment.
Other than that, I am pleasantly surprised at how good it looks.
@nukeitall - Microsoft's "worldwide best seller" claim at E3 comes from the fact that it sold the most consoles in the last year compared to PS3 and Wii. That's right, for one year, and most of those sales came from holiday sales. PS3 was outselling it worldwide for the majority of the year, but 360 pushed pass by getting an insane amount of sales in the US in the holiday season.

This is actually quite a good move imo, we've seen a lot of companies who make losses, and the execs still get a pay increase. Just look at the banks, the bankers were still getting millions in bonuses, even when they were getting bailed out by government tax money. So good on them, and I hope all companies that are losing money follow suit, so that shareholders have faith in the top execs.
You really should, my 60GB died on me when inFAMOUS 1/RE5 came out. Then got a replacement, which died on me when I was playing Skyrim. Luckily I managed to transfer the save.

@signified - yeah you might use the features now, but if those features were the ONLY thing that XBLG had, and online play was free, none of your friends would renew their subscriptions. You might think you would now, but you wouldn't because you can live without them features.
If Microsoft made online gameplay free on XBL Silver, Gold subscriptions would drop 90% easily. Nobody cares about the extra features, they just want to play their damn games online.
Good graphics nowdays means a different thing to what it used to. Now good graphics can mean realistic movement animations, lighting, destructible environments, and a better sense of immersion. That was never the case before, so graphics do matter a lot for some games that use these things.
On the other hand, there are things like Disgaea which doesn't have the best graphics, but always sells a decent amount because people enjoy it's gameplay. Of course, if it had the...
@blitz - Seriously doubt that. If they're announcing at TGS, I'd think it is more likely that we'll see a December release date in Japan (same as FF13 and 13-2), and around February for the rest of the world (maybe March).
