Was just going to post it, it's because some of these countries have a ridiculous tax rate. The only way they can get cheap consoles is if they are actually built there, to avoid the import tax.
Problem with CEX is that 99% of the time, the guy at the till says "we don't have any cash, so we can only offer store credit", and their prices are ridiculous, as is their stock because it is all used items from people.
"Currently the fastest selling console in the UK is Sony's PSP, which was sold to 185,000 consumers after just four days on the market."
Proves that British people have good taste.
The blades were actually quite complicated, it's just that people were used to them because they'd been around for so long. The new metro style is much easier for most casual users, but is just harder to get the advanced config for gamers. I don't mind either UI for Xbox though.
@aiBreeze - They seem to be the first ones to charge such ridiculously large amounts for DLC though. £32.50 is way too much, you can get the game itself for £39.99.
There will definitely be an Xbone price cut before then. Anyone who doesn't see that the $100 price difference will make them suffer lacks foresight. Pachter is right, if the difference between PS4 and Xbone increases too much, there will be a price cut of some sort by E3 next year. The only hope that MS has is TitanFall, that could sell a lot of consoles to the point where they don't need to do a price cut.
If you consider that they kept talking about having 300,000 servers, and the cloud being up all the time. And couple that with only a million or so consoles being connected at a maximum, it doesn't bode well for MS. I'm sure they will sort it out, but I would have thought they'd be more prepared with the insane focus on being connected to the internet all the time.
What if they had stuck to their stupid DRM and people were having these issues??? And it would have ...
I KNEW IT! I knew it was only a 30 second auto-DVR, but they used misdirection and said it was 5 minute DVR (not mentioning the fact that you have to do it manually). On the other hand, PS4 has a 15 minute auto-DVR. I can see why they didn't want to mention it.
This was obviously going to happen. A lot of fanboys jumped on the PS4 failures, and a lot will probably jump on these failures. Unless we start seeing an RROD-level of failure, I think we can assume everything is okay. Plus, the console is huge so there should be enough ventilation.
PS4 is more powerful, internal power brick, yet smaller. Shows that MS did not believe in their design at all which is why they oversized everything.
I actually can't believe how desperate this seems. Like did he have to be there watching LOL. Make sure nothing bad is said.
To be fair, most of the Polygon employees are complete idiots. So I can see them not understanding how a remote control works. Also, they must really be stupid if they think Sony won't release a PS4 remote at some point, they did it for PS2 and PS3, why would they stop now.
Their entire stream was quite biased, you could tell from the tone of their talking on the PS4 stream (they went into it expecting to hate it), and with the Xbone stream, they were EXTREMELY forgiving....
Open world?!? I am re-interested in Sunset Overdrive, trailer didn't really do it for me, but I would like to see what Insomniac can do with an Open world game.
That's because there haven't been many games for the 360 for the past three years, so they've had time to get stuff ready.
/truth
@Veno - You need to play GT before talking. A lot for your post shows you up as being misinformed. GT6 is out next month btw. Also, I'm not saying you're wrong or right.
Thank God, hopefully they iron out all the issues before EU launch.
Ryse looks really good, but early impressions seem to be quite bad. I honestly think this will get very low scores, but probably not as low as Knack.
@Grown Folks Talk - Major Nelson actually suggested it was more like game trials, in a video interview with Angry Joe.
Considering the fact that the Xbone is out this Friday, I haven't seen a single ad just for the console. I've seen a couple of COD ads.
I hate to admit it, but this goes to one of the side-scrolling marios. Not that I hate those games, I'm just not a huge fan of them any more, but they are incredibly accessible. Accessible enough for more people to like them.
My personal favourite is probable MGS1, or Maybe Soul Reaver.
