@raztad - I 100% agree, nothing on console looks as good as Killzone 2 still. The only thing that comes close is Uncharted 2, and even that doesn't look as good as Killzone 2 in terms of atmospheric effects.
Killzone 2 is not a "corridor" shooter, there are lots of maps that have open environments, dynamic objects, smoke and realistic wind effects. Seriously, anyone that complains that KZ2 doesn't look good, hasn't played the game.
Sounds like they are using the old "Turok" trick to make the game look better. Covering the area with mist or darkness so you can't see too far means processing can focus on immediate surroundings, meaning the game can look a lot better than it would do if you could see too far.
Still, looks great though, and I don't mind trickery as long as the game looks good when I play it. Silent Hill 1 used a lot of fog to cover up stuff too, but the game was the best in the series...
Anyone who had actually played GOW1 and 2 would already have known that Sony Santa Monica do not skimp on quality, as both of those games had no load screens and gameplay was seamless. So it was safe to assume that GOW3 would have no load screens, especially with Uncharted having no load screens.
"The bad stuff:
Poor plot, terrible acting, terrible writing and numerous gameplay flaws."
Wow, what a stupid review. The plot is fantastic, the writing is fantastic, and the voice-acting is fantastic, with a few exceptions, but what do you expect from a 2000 page script! There are also parts in Mass Effect 1/2 that aren't up to scratch with most of the game.
It seems this guy has focused on the few faults of the game and exaggerated them. I can unde...
LOL @ Bungie, seems to be posting every possible negative PS3 review. That's incredibly desperate...
@MisterNiwa - That won't happen either because Kojima likes to take control of his own projects, and Naughty Dog have no management system, they just go with the flow. Both developers are great, but I doubt they would work together for anything more than a bit of DLC.
Yeah, thank God they fixed that, it was annoying to see his username still there. That is one sad little troll lol.
I downloaded the patch, game still works perfectly fine for me.
It won't be a big success, MadWorld deserved it more, and it didn't happen.
No it'll be over 20k definitely, I'd guess it's around 50k. Still, I'm surprised that it even charted, it's so different to every other game that Japan usually likes. Also I can't believe that RE5 jumped in at number 1, wouldn't have expected it to be that high.
"Indeed the remedial effort made in plot, dialogue and voice-acting illustrates exactly why Quantic Dreams were right to try to shake things up."
Ok now that is stupid, they are mentioning a completely different type of game in their review, and the only link between them is that they are PS3 exclusive. Also, these guys seem ridiculously unprofessional, they don't even know that it's Quantic Dream, NOT Quantic DreamS.
Anyway, I've been playing the game, an...
I can't believe this even got approved, the video is not even 720p! I would have approved it if it actually WAS 720p, but the black borders prove that it isn't at that resolution at all.
Oh Greenberg, the US =/= the world, the 360 may have outsold the PS3 in 2009 in the US (by ~430k), but worldwide the 360 has been losing ground ever since the PS3 launched.
@Jason360- that's not true, I installed disc 1 of ME2 and it worked fine without installing the second disc.
I gotta say, the film looks kinda crap to me, like that crappy Dragonfly movie. Also I can't believe that Nicolas Cage has sunk so low to be in this movie lol.
doubt it, looks like that watchmen game.
I actually don't even give a crap, I just want to play it already.
@Bungie - you forgot to add, "if they are reviewing a 360 game" to the end of that sentence.
Teletext are overly harsh to any PS3 games, I mean 4/10, WTF, when every other site gives the game 9+ and one site gives it 4/10, I think it's safe to assume that they are biased.
Edit: You only have to look at their other reviews of PS3 exclusives to see that they are too harsh. Logic suggests that they are biased, I'll still approve this though, everyone has a rig...
@Dread + Mint - Honestly, I came in here to say STFU Sony, enough is enough with these comments. But from reading the article, they didn't mention Microsoft once, so this isn't as bad as stuff we've seen from Aaron Greenburg or Turn 10.
The website has kind of twisted the words, and obviously we know that they are talking about MS, but the fact that they don't mention them specifically speaks volumes for the way Sony does business.
Yeah 100MB, but if you download 2GB of data, you'll probably get limited to 10MB for the rest of the day. Virgin really should get sued for stuff like this.
