I remember reading something similar a while ago about how Spotify etc. have changed music.
No more long intros, the song has to have the hook within the first 20 seconds or so otherwise the listener will move onto the next track to see what it's like.
This is same now with Netflix (usually a big intro in first episode to hook people in) and now also Game Pass.

I meant why would MS compress their games to allow a Series S owner to hold say 10 new gen games when currently they'd be lucky to hold 5?
That would mean every memory card would be 5 game purchases further away for each Series S owner, reducing revenue opportunities on those units within that 5 game sales timeframe.
It's one of the ways MS is hoping to gain money back on its 'bargain' ...
They could, but then they'd lose potential revenue on those proprietary memory cards they sell for upwards of £200 to the Series S owners.
