Hopefully it will come sooner :), i really want to jump into the next gen.
Personally i think people already go overboard when they claim kinect is watching.
yes theres a camera in it, yes the console can go online.
But all the stuff i mentioned has a camera and go online.
Heck even tv's are build with camera's for skype calls.
People who cant handle the combination of internet and a camera, should avoid internet alltogether.
I dont mind however, so il be enjoying my X1 games this year.
They also said the same thing about the 360 its specs, compared to the ps4.
Remember how the 360 was supposed to need blu ray?
and yet GTAV comes on 2 dis's, and one of them is only required for installation.
Remember the much faster XDR memory, as opposed to the DDr3 in the 360?
The faster processer in the ps3.
What difference did it make in the end?
Nothing, both platforms have the strengths and advantages, and bo...
I dont see how kinect watching is a problem is you can take your console offline.
If you are scared off that, just never go online...
And while at it, never use a phone, never use a laptop, a pc, or any other form of interactive media, because they might be watching.
Buying into rumors again arent we?
They voice control can be turned off (it says so on the official XB1 site), so theres obviously a way to turn it on and off without voices.
Most likely with the controller.
Besides, does it matter how you turn it on or off?
I dont see much hassle in saying two words.
Dont worry, if you are into games, then you cant complain much about the XB1.
At GDC they will unveil more games, and they are even on TGS this year.
For me personally they already have done enough, but the more the merrier.
Iteration is indeed not progression, however a sequel is not just an iteration.
Many sequels have been welcome additions to gaming.
And when it comes to Forza, i rather have a new forza, then having these guys start over to work on another racer, starting over would be a waste of valuable resources.
Wasnt it so that you only require a box, if you already use a box right now?
Aka tv without box doesnt need box on XB1.
Well, it didnt work for star trek, barely worked for star wars, so a prequel to mass effect wouldnt be a good idea either.
Sci fi and goin back in time, only works when its actually about time traveling.
So, what other OS does it run on, besides Windows?
@GiggMan
its not MS that focusses all attention on it, its the Media that does that.
Then why does this article claim the opposite of what i wrote?
Pc games market is a free market he said, MS cant force you to use licenses he said, yeah right.
You cant even develop for windows without paying licenses.
Unless you pirate Visual studio and other requirement for putting a game out.
@Kleptic,
You are very very Wrong.
Do you really think that the consumer business is what MS earns their money at?
T...
As long as you use windows, you paid licenses to MS, and others will have to pay licenses to MS to put games on that OS.
No matter how you look at it, you wont get around MS, unless you go for a different OS completely.
Heck, if Sony would put Windows on the Ps4, then ps4 developers would have to pay license fee's to MS in order to put their games on the ps4.
So its no wonder that Sony uses Linux/Unix instead.
Sorry, but this article is bull.
MS does profit from game development, what do you think games are written in?
Exactl C++, where do you get the license, exactly MS.
Then theres a license to use direct-x, who owns that, exactly, MS.
Even if you use an engine from a third party, the creator of that engine had to write it in C++, and thus needs to license.
If you put something on Windows, no matter what it is, you need to buy additional MS l...
I dont see how i would get into trouble by supporting my console of choice.
I meant in big three as in Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony.
As in, the big players in the console market.
However i do see a possibility of the WiiU selling very well, but agree they wont do Wii numbers.
If they sell 40 million WiiU;s it would bring Nintedo a good amount of profit, just not as much as the Wii brought them.
Everybody should just get the console of his/her choice.
Theres plenty of room for the big three.
imho, still the best atelier game ever made.
Even the Alchemy system is much more complex then the ones found in nowadays atelier games.
Back then you had to mix individual items to create something new, instead of nowadays mixing wood/plant items with stone or metal items to make something.
Does it matter, it still has battery's, so people should stop using the battery argument.
Also, you can use standard rechargable battery's in the controller, so you dont need to pay MS extra.
Details on specs will only give you a forecast, allows you to make predictions.
Just like when new video cards are announced, people make predictions on how they might perform compared to the older ones.
However, the actual field tests (benchmarks) is the only reliable way to tell how the hardware stacks up.
So in the end, predictions are not set in stone, and we seen that last generation.
So Ms is right that nobody knows (yet)...
A lot of us dont.
I for example just want to purchase an X1, this gets me automatically shoved into a camp.
Its kinda like a prison, during the first lunch you have to sit down somewhere, whatever place you pick becomes your gang and you instantly get hated by the others.
The reason i pick the X1, is because i dont want to miss out on its exclusives, Mostly Forza, Killer Instinct, Halo and Dead rising.
Theres no other reason to it. <...
