Awesome score

Seeing a lot of nines, and the oddball 7

Not to compare this with Rare Replay, except to say the value is outstanding with both games.

Great collections

well done

The difference is the Gears collection is backwards compatible.

Gears games also don't have cross-play between iterations

Gears doesn't combine all the games into 1 inter-playable experience.

Gears was never released on the original Xbox

That's where The Master Chief Collection is different.

It went where no game has gone before:

-combining multiplayer from OX, and 360 onto a 3rd ...

You might want to check the pre orders

Halo 5 has been either the top pre ordered game or the top pre ordered exclusive for months.

This awesome gameplay only solidifies the demand.

Looking great.

Actually Sony is on record saying that BC is a requested feature.

If Sony though their fanbase didn't want it, then why did they spend $380,000,000 on Gaikia?

Why do they thing the fanbase will pay a fee to stream previous generation games?

Why did the PS3 and 360 have BC?

Answer, because ppl want it and it adds value to the gaming experience.

"Look ma, I could play old games"

lol, you are conveniently missing the point.

The console can play new games AND play previous generation favourites with NO ADDITIONAL COSTS OR FEES.

If it wasn't a BIG deal it wouldn't be one of the top features ask for by the fanbase.

Apparently Sony things it's a BIG deal, since they spent $380,000,000 for Gaikai. Sony also thinks it's a BIG enough deal that It&#...

Well said, those are all valid points.

There is another issue as well.

Based on the shear number of ppl on the Crackdown destruction demo, that stated they don't want to be hooked up to the internet or that a lot of areas have poor internet, one can only conclude that this would not be acceptable even if it was free.

Looks like a good week

And the value of the Gears of War Ultimate edition is outstanding.

Remastered version looks fabulous.

Bonus Backwards Compatibility is makes this a easy 1st day purchase decision.

I think the comment was mean't as a compliment to how good the game looks.

It's great because a lot of ppl commented on how they didn't want to play the game with all guns blazing. Having said that I think some who stated that were just trolls but now it's blown up in their hateful faces.

Now we see the choices we have.

Good times ahead.

It's hilarious to see the deceptive comments from ppl that don't even own an X1, lol.

First off we see joeorc suggest that Sony is doing great because the share price has gone from $14 to $30, an old troll trick of leaving out the big picture that Sont shares were over $100 in 1997.

Then DragonKnight goes back to the old days when hater spammed graphs like this:

Im curious about your use of the term "desperation move"?

When a fanbase asks for a feature and the manufacturer responds is that a "desperation move"?

When Sony did market research that led them to spending $380,000,000.00 on GaiKai so their fanbase could play games from previous generations was that a "desperation move"?

When Sonys research told them that their fanbase would pay a ridiculously high fee to rent ...

That's an excellent point, and REALLY drives home the benefit of BC vs streaming.

Well said

So 400,000 more X1's than its competitor is "slightly better?"

And that was just 1 month, lol.

I can't take you seriously when you post blatant lies.

All the BIG multiplatform games (Fallout, COD, Battlefront), AND, the MOST anticipated AAA exclusives (not really subjective, Halo, Forza, Gears) are available on one console, the X1. It's one-stop shopping for the biggest games of the year, and only on X1.

@jebabcock

"I hate to burst peoples bubbles..."

(sarcasm) You better phone MS right away and tell them that they are on a path to financial ruin.

Seriously, you believe some of the worlds best minds for engineering and business have developed and presented this technology without considering ALL the ramifications?

You believe that you know how the business model works better than MS?

Regardless, now...

"That is like saying the biggest con about multiplayer is you need to have internet."

Exactly, and ED, that is exactly my point.

Check the hundreds of comments in the cloud articles, ppl saying..."i'm punished for not being online"

Guess what, it's multiplayer; YOU ARE ONLINE. it's a bonus to get the destruction.

Don't believe me, check out any of the articles.

As long as p...

This is a win, win, win situation.

1. X1 owners get access to 360 games they may have wanted to play but never got around to playing.

2. Publishers sell more 360 games.

3. Bargin hunters can get deals on used 360 games for their X1.

Speaks volumes that this deal sold out in minutes yet the article says that just "several customers" tried this.

Others may have tried Amazon, as it was a really good deal, but it sounds like the vast majority got a good deal they/re happy with.

And another article talked about volumetric fog.

I'm sure MS will be implementing this tech into their development kits so developers will all have access and can amaze us all.

2016 is looking like a new age of possibilities in gaming.

Good to see this computation heavy tool being used on console to such great effect, makes a big difference. I think Forza Horizon 2 was the first time it was used on console.

Great to see the developers improving our games

Thanks for the reply, but the big problem, according to hundreds of recent posts, is the "always online" requirement. If you have any doubt just visit a cloud compute article and check the comments from PS owners.

Personally this wouldn't bother me as I'm always connected.

BTW, the new SKU without Kinect is not a price drop, it's a new SKU, the original SKU with Kinect is still there...like a loaded version of a car, if a bare bones add...

Just going by all the comments about being always connected to the internet on other articles about the cloud, I'd say the biggest con to PSnow is the always online requirement. To say nothing about the cost of the subscription.

I think free is always better, and the BC catalog will just get bigger.

I moved my 360 to my Moms house 2000 miles away, now I just move disc when I go visit and don't have to drag a console with me. I can play my favourite ...
