If you want high frame rates get a decent PC, next gen GPUs are just round the corner like Q3/Q4 this year and even the lower end 4060Ti should blow the consoles away. 4080 will smash them.
Yeah I remember demos being a thing even during the dial up days, don't really see them like you used to.
For sure, not sure how I'd rank it vs the 2D games, but in terms of pure fun SA2 is a very fun game.
Mission Mode from DS.. the games have been lacking it since. I think I kinda prefer Mario Party in terms of overall variety, at least MP1 on the 64 and now MP Superstars anyways.
Mistake right at the start. "Wonder Boy has been around for a long time. The beloved series got its first game way back in 1986 on Nintendo’s Wii"
Though yeah i am fond of Dragon's Trap and Monster World on the Megadrive, both enjoyable fun games. The series always reminded me of a kind of side scrolling Zelda, and we have Shantae today which is also very obviously inspired by Wonder Boy.
Wii Sports was ok for screwing around, but the games lacked depth. Also I'm not sure why it seems like they decided to stick with the automatic player movement so all you need to do is swing to hit something. Very noob friendly but not as much fun IMO.
Same, Worms 2 was great fun back in the dial up days of the 90's with online multiplayer.
Not even a mission mode. Guess the Switch successor isn't coming anytime soon.. kinda lame.
Also where are Pilotwings and Starfox? Or do we have to wait ages for those? They keep milking junk games like Pokemon instead.
Online games used to be fun during the dial up days in the late 90's with Worms 2 and Worms Armageddon, then with early broadband first person shooters were awesome.
It can still be fun to go online but many games don't feel much different to when it first started.
And that's why everything (even adult stuff) is being censored, parents buying their kiddies games with ecchi/hentai content smh.
Or the game is just demanding, that's where PC comes in for higher frames. Even then you may need to wait for next gen GPUs later this year. I imagine similar performance from some UE5 games as well.
Shame it sells so much but some franchises that need new titles remain locked away. Thought they were going to output more games since all teams only have to make stuff for one machine too.
I hope the great sales don't mean a long delay for a new machine either.
Wasn't the game already rated 16? Guess a "more mature" sequel would get the same age rating, I mean the Senran Kagura games had very soft core scenes along with Gal Gun.. Not sure how they got away with those ratings.
They probably do it because they don't want kids to see all the sexual stuff, if parents stopped buying their kids adult content maybe they wouldn't censor it. Otherwise just buy the blurays or view it elsewhere.
Did you not like the game?
I remember going in expecting a L4D style of game, but the excessive camera swaying honestly made me feel ill, and it's rare for a game to do that to me, still don't understand why the need for anything other than maybe a subtle slight camera movement when doing melee attacks etc. Other than that i didn't really find the game that good. In all honesty i had more enjoyment out of DNF, and i know many people crap on that game.
TBF even back in 1999 you could emulate SM64 at full speed and at a higher resolution than the N64, all on a CRT screen and could be done with lower end hardware even then, although Corn64 wasn't compatible with many games so it was mostly just SM64 that ran really well on weaker hardware. I think Starfox worked to a certain extent. You needed a more powerful PC to run some of the other emulators well enough.
Did that guy threaten you with the FBI? That's funny sinc...
I honestly don't care about COD, the first game was good, but even back in 01/02 i was way too busy enjoying online multiplayer on games like Soldier of Fortune 2, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, SNES online multiplayer in emulators, Worms series etc.
The whole thing just looks off to me.
If a developer wants to make a L4D style game i don't understand why they don't just copy it, and then add a ton of new things on top.
People say L4D 2 is perfect but IMO it's not, the leaked screens of the plantation running on Source 2 in 2014 made L4D2 look very dated. I know graphics doesn't = gameplay but there's still a bunch of new stuff they can do to make the gameplay fresh. More variety,...
I would agree, my only issue with 8 and 16 bit games was that a lot of them were quite short and could be beaten in an hour or less, but I didn't discover that until later, and of course some made up for the short length by being more challenging.
RTX 4000 series should have greatly improved RT performance, hoping for a ton of raster performance too. If these cards are decent should see a nice 40+% uptick in fps.
The gen after consoles come out is always the best, I think 3060Ti is rough equivalent of the new consoles, 4080 should be blazing fast later this yr.
