If it's above Xbox One level of performance, which lets face it.. it really needs to be, then RDR2 could easily run on the Switch. No it wouldn't be the best version visual/frame rate wise, but it would run. We don't know enough about the Switch yet to tell if it's powerful enough to handle it, but honestly if the performance is below even Xbox One that would be disappointing IMO and a big mistake from Nintendo.
It really needs to be between Xbox One and PS4 performance to get third party support.. At the very least it needs to be at Xbox One level, if it's below that it will be pretty disappointing and will make third parties stay away like with the Wii U.
I'd pay up to maybe £400 for one if it is more powerful than rumoured. As it is i hope it's at least a bit more powerful than Xbox One for third party support. It would make no sense to be weaker than that.
I personally think it would be a mistake to have the Switch be less powerful than the Xbox One. I mean the Advert they made clearly shows the intended target audience is 20+ year olds, so adults.. If that's the case they could price it a bit higher, and increase the specifications to make it between Xbox One and PS4 performance.
My reasoning here is that the better the spec the more third party support it will get, so if it really is below Xbox One i really don't ge...
Being a PC gamer first and love handhelds second, i am also very interested. I just hope the third party support and power is there. Rockstar hasn't announced RDR2 for it so I'm not sure that says much, at the moment at least.
Apart from handhelds i only really game on my PC, so i am kinda interested in the Switch. But.. I'm not sure on the power side of things, it really better be using the Pascal Tegra is all i can say. I wonder if this system will attract Rockstar? They usually avoid Nintendo systems because of the lacking power it seems, and RDR2 hasn't been announced to run on it.. yet.
Hopefully it doesn't use the whole video to talk about just the hardware but also the games, and i don't mean they should skimp on explaining the way the system works or its specs, but it is Nintendo so i don't know if they will talk about the specs.. i just hope they can get the points across and pack plenty of info in.
Someone is ignoring large Steam sales again I see which disprove that argument.
I think GTA 4 went too much for realism, this is why i wasn't very fussed on GTA 3 either not to mention the poor vehicle speeds. Loved Vice City and San Andreas though, they were funny as well as serious.
@starchild i have to agree with you, there is the odd comment here that would like everyone to believe that everyone who plays on PC must pirate their games, Steam sales disprove this.
Some are also talking as if there are cheaters everywhere on PC, true it's easier to be able to cheat on PC games. But then it's also likely to get your key/account banned if playing on a secure server, meaning they have to spend money to get back in the game again.

This is good for people who can't afford a better midrange card, I personally wouldn't go anywhere near a 1050 or 1060, would have to be at least a 1070 for me and 1080 is kinda expensive for a small boost over it. But I have a 980Ti so I won't be changing for a while.
I might even skip the 1080Ti and go straight to Volta cards when they come out, so maybe I'll go 1170/1180 or even 1180Ti. There's no new games coming out that my 980Ti won't be able ...
That 4K will be 30fps though no doubt, obviously I don't speak for everyone but I personally would prefer a lower resolution at a solid 60fps or even higher if you have the monitor (100hz+) to support it, since it makes a big difference to smoothness.
It might come just a few months later, could be as simple as that. I really doubt they would leave PC out now since they began releasing more recent games for it.
In truth even when I've had consoles I barely played them because I mostly game on my PC, so they became a waste of money in that sense. The last consoles I played that much were PS1, N64 and then Dreamcast, quite a bit on the original Xbox, after that when I got a 360 is when I hardly played them and got much more into PC gaming.
These days I only really bother much with the handhelds now.
Nutaku? I have to question if the nut part is what i think it means..
@moldybread you would be surprised, if maxing out the game and turning off (yes off) the Nvidia Flex stuff, i get minimums of about 80fps when 6 players and tons of stuff is going on like explosions and lots of zeds on screen. That's playing at 120hz/fps with a 980Ti. So you'd need a good mid range card if playing with a 60hz screen if you didn't want much fps dips at 1080p. You really have to keep your frame rate up with games like this all the time.
Yup it's a great game, i go back to it every now and then having breaks from L4D2.
I have to laugh at this answer they gave about frame rate, so to have a 30fps mode i bet they are kicking themselves laughing.

That's slightly surprising i guess, i mean Sonic Generations Collectors Edition was Europe only i think and it stayed that way didn't it?
Well the Switch at least has a good resolution for its screen size, IMO the Vita got the resolution just right for its size too at 960x544. 3DS got it too low and Vita got it just right, to me there is little/nothing to complain about with the sharpness of the Vita's screen. Switch should do well on that front at least.
