if the DLC is cosmetic to the character (like in Killing Floor) I don't mind paying for it, since it doesn't affect other players.
What i do hate is DLC maps that you pay for, or modes.. that completely alienates (excuse the pun) other players from joining those maps or modes. That just ends up splitting the game into 2 basically.
What's a gran daddy? do you mean grand daddy?
The next gen GTA engine, or upgraded RAGE engine could look as good as this. Providing they optimize it well enough then it could run great too.
B.S article, it was bad also on DS and that never stopped games being made for it.
Also a lot of great PC games now are most fun online, so if they pirate a game they are missing out since they won't be able to play multiplayer.
yeah, it might be good for a quick blast in some party game but not for controlling a game all the time.
Seriously, the only new tech to play differently that's impressed me lately is the Oculus Rift on PC.. now that does seem to have a lot of potential.
The problem with Crytek is that they focus on graphics too much and badly optimize their games, the fact it takes so long for the game to be playable at 60fps after release says volumes about their games.
I won't be touching any of their games, even if they are free. now Valve and Source 2 on the other hand.. sounds very yummy.
Don't really care crytek, for starters your games run like crap on the best graphics cards on release.
I game at 1920x1080 because it's the best res for speed and quality, i'll be getting a GTX 780 or 790 on release and the more fps i get the better, i don't want a game like Crysis that runs something like 30-40fps when i can play real games that are actually fun at over 60fps.
Pretty pathetic that their games run so bad on top graphics cards...
My 5870 graphics card from late 2009 apparently has 1.5 TFlops, didn't even realize it almost beats the new consoles before they even come out. Saying that my card is slowly aging, then i'll be upgrading it sometime this year probably to the new GTX 780/790 and be miles ahead of even the new consoles again.
The console gimmicks like Illumiroom and the new PSeye thingy don't really impress me, Oculus Rift is looking like it might be a great new VR experience on PC though.
Stop with the "Valve can't count to 3" crap, we all know 3rd games of the best games made: Half Life, Portal, Left 4 Dead will all come eventually even if they don't have the number 3 at the end of their title. I'm almost certain i'd bet that this year is when they show Source 2.
Also this company makes the best games ever, i can't wait to see Source engine 2 and i completely agree with him that Cloud gaming isn't the future.
...
I think launch or 1-2 years later is more than enough, there's little point to buying one when a new one is right around the corner.
Then again i'm mainly a PC gamer, so i usually keep my tech up to date every 2-3 years.
it's not the worst situation, i think people will have a right to be mad though if the game looks the same on the 360/ps3. The Wii U version should definitely look better, nevermind the game pad features.. it also needs to look noticably better, and not in the way reggie meant when he said multiplats look significantly better when they didn't.
That's because they are not a full experience like you get on Console/PC, they are good for a quick blast.. nothing that lasts a while.
if Apple released a console, it'd be overpriced like the Ipads for sure.
That'd get you a nice motherboard, memory and CPU to start building a nice gaming rig with.
New Left 4 Dead and HL3 please, will be upgrading my GPU as soon as Source 2 is announced XD. Gotta have them 60fps at 1080p!
it's a great handheld, very crisp and clear screen, very nice graphics (for a handheld) being closer to PS3 than PSP was to PS2 in my opinion. it also has a very good web browser that is much better than the 3DS's, youtube is also very good on it.
My only complaint on it is the fact the OLED screen isn't perfect as such, in a very dim or dark room you can see dark patches in the back of the screen which can be a bit irritating since you know it's always there....
Don't be surprised if they milk another 3-4 games from a new engine. at least we have great devs like Valve who actually upgrade their engine when they release new games.
I just spoke to Gabe Newell who said: i pity the devs who prefer to have many games, than to make less games that are great quality.
Humble words my friend, tell that to the COD and Halo devs.
Meh, cashgrab card (Mars) rip off, 700 series is right around the corner, and games would run crap at massive resolutions.
Give me 1080p and 60+fps always, much better than higher res and almost unplayable framerates of like 20-30fps with 3 monitors. Speed is much more important.
Only need to look at hgih end card reviews to see 1080p is always the sweet spot for speed.
