Not read the article but I'm guessing it's because they let us feel like we're doing things we want to do in real life but can't. Simple really.
I play Assetto Corsa on PC for my authentic thrills and will be playing GTsport for my competitive thrills. AC's online is a bit lacking. Not a fan of PC2 I got it on PC and it just feels the same as the first one, slightly improved physics but still nowhere near Assetto Corsa and the graphics are actually fairly poor imho.
It is hard to argue for GTsport on the content department, cars yes it has many good ones, but it is very lacking in the track department. I only hope they ad...

The first one is far better, and actually still looks just as good. If you haven't played the first one, get it and skip the sequel. It was nothing to do with the first and is not nearly as good.
Id, cause I'm old and most of my early gaming memories have id written all over them. From Commander Keen right through to modern Doom :)
Edit: I'd love to see Commander Keen in a modern 3d platformer, that would be awesome!
It's not exactly a new thing, look at The Bone Collector, based on the book of the same name. In the books Lincoln Rhyme is very much a white dude, Denzel Washington is very much a black dude. Still a good movie but as a lover of the books, it did bug me. Also his aide Tom is quite clearly a gay white dude. In the movie it was queen latifa!
They could never make anything that would live up to the hype and expectations. They know that and thus will never even try.
I have to admit I tried the beta and didn't really think much of it. It wasn't a bad game by any means, it just didn't do anything interesting enough to be worth my time.

On another emotional level though the game that I was most depressed at finishing was The Witcher 3, I genuinely felt like it left a hole in my life! Especially since I got probably the worst possible ending!
I prefer playing games rather than watching other people play. And I imagine that is the case for most people.
I only watch gameplay vids to get a feel for whether or not I want to buy a game.

I actually thought they were getting cheaper, especially when you consider inflation over the years. The PS4 was considerably cheaper than the PS3 at launch and I actually remember my PS1 costing about the same as the PS4 and that was 20 years ago now!

Yup, I have always had a gaming PC, my first was a 286 with a 31mb hdd, yes I'm that old. But I have also always had consoles too. Both have pros and cons, thus I have always had both and always will.
All I know is that EA's was the worst. Except Anthem, it looks awesome.
Yeah the beta had tyre temp, tyre wear and mechanical damage. It is definitely more sim than any GT before it.
