...maybe a bit too much; check the smiley. :-)
The point was that some people are too easy to tease...
...and take their gaming too seriously.
Its supposed to be just for fun.
BTW, you a train fan or an AUTHORITY fan?
...who pine for what they can't have. ;-)
There is no better goal in life (according to some).
You need to understand, childrem is that MS is playing a game with Sony, here: its called "what's mine is mine and what's yours is negotiable." :-D
...and Walmart today is selling a handful of HD-DVDs at $15 as part of their $99 HD-DVD player push.
So expect BD prices to drop to $20 soon even if the players aren't going lower than $399 any time soon.
Doesn't matter which side "wins", consumers already won.
Originally BD movies were to cost $50; HD-DVD brought'em down to $20-something, might still get them to $15.
Originally consumers weren't supposed to have a choice; we were supposed to get whatever the deal-makers in the smoke-filled rooms decided for us. Four new versions of BD later, we have a lot more features than the deal-makers wanted to give us and we may still get more.
If y...
Dunno.
Maybe they actually have lives?
Or are too busy playing on their 360s? ;-)
If you mean california...the answer is no.
AT&T Uverse is available in a dozen states or more, DirecTV is available nationwide.
There are a lot of odd things about this particular report that are questionable but the value of IPTV, whenever and however it is delivered isn't one of them.
Its all a matter of the kinds of deals that MS is able to cook up with content providers.
And as Video Marketplace is showing on a weekly basis, there is no shortage of content ...
The best-selling PSP games add up to maybe 1% of the installed base??!!
What's going on?
Are people buying the PSP as a media player?
Why buy a portable gaming box but no games?
Odd...
...and not games. Games will stay on DVD9.
Two things to consider;
1- it may be a Toshiba 360, not a Microsoft XBOX 360
2- It may be Japan only
This kind of licensing has happened before.
Panasonic (for a while) sold a DVD-player that played Game Cube games:

It may be an HD-DVD player that happens to play games, rather t...
The helmet is three-quarter sized!
I didn't think a cat could wear it...
Some folks take their fannishness a wee bit too far.
...the timing is about right; Halo 3 went gold a month before launch. Too bad its still a fracking month before we get to play the thing.
...but I suspect they disagree with your expectation that Sony would restore BC to the PS3 line at any price point.
That would be admitting that removing it was wrong and, of course, Sony does no wrong.
Gotta save face at all costs is the japanese way.
They may have a point, too; if you look at the evolution of the PS3 line, they *take out* gaming features every time they reduce the price:
- first they took out the emotion engine
- then the graphics chip and...
...its called the PC.
And its doing quite fine.
If PS3 sales continue, it *will* surpass the 360's first year sales...
...in *two* years.
Do look at the month by month numbers above; PS3 in 10 months has sold what 360 sold in 3 (4 Million) and half what 360 sold in a year (8 million).
360 is currently at 13-14 million so they have built up a full year's worth of sales lead (in 10 months) and the margin is increasing every month.
If MS sold nothing for a year solid and PS3 doubled their current sales, they'd stil...
Compare the PS3 august numbers to sept and factor in the 5 weeks vs 4...
What do you get?
A honking big month to month decline, perhaps?
(131K in Aug to 119K in sept).
I was trying to be diplomatic, y'know...?
...the 360 wasn't competing with the PS3; it was competing with Kutaragi's overblown hype. So it had a tougher row to hoe than PS3.
Ps3, however, is competing against a real console with real flaws and real strengths whereas last year the 360 was competing against flawless vaporware. That is why 360 sales *jumped* through the roof last december once the market finally got a good look at the competition; the fence-sitters jumped in.
Expect a similar result this de...
3.3 million units in two weeks is more than the Halo 2 launch. But there is more to come.
Its not horrible.
A fair score would be a 6.5-7.
Not great, but there are some fun things to fool around with. The object combination and elemental gem upgrades are nice gear-boosting mechanics that deserve being copied in other RPGs. Its no Oblivion but they had the right idea is several areas; the coding just fell a bit short for an action RPG and the story fell well short of a pure story RPG.
Two big problems:
1- voice acting runs from decent (at best) t...
Sept 06, the 360 sold 260K in NorthAm.
http://biz.gamedaily.com/in...
October 06, the 360 sold 216K in NorthAM.

And that was pre-Gears with Scarface the top seller.
So PS3 is running half the 360 sales at the same point in their history.
The price cut ...
1- August was a 4-week month
2- Sept was a 5-week month
That's how Wii (and the 360) got to 500+.
Factor that in for the PS3 and...
