Take two's fiscal year 2008 ends in October.
http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/080...

Fiscal 2009 starts in november.
First quarter '09 is November 08-january 09.

So both Take two and MS are correct.
The DLC is due in november 2008.
That is fall '08, in calendar terms *and* Q109 in financial terms.

Next!

Time to bury that dead horse. ;-)

Google it up kid, it is a very real technique.
So, yes, upscaling is for real.

Now, just how better it is depends on the *material* you're upscaling and what you compare it to.

For starters, if you compare upscaled DVD to the early BD releases encoded with MPEG2 to justify the "need" for a 50GB format, you'll find no visible difference.

On the other hand, if you compare it to a movie encoded with VC1 or H264 you'll see a differenc...

Not that it matters or anything.
Basically the day of the 3rd party exclusive is just about done.
The only exclusives we're likely to see are the ones developed or published by the console vendor.
(Or targetting Wii. And even those...)

They just forgot to add a qualifier:
..."the game will look just like a PS3, *when played on a 13" CRT TV via RF modulator*".
Its easy to make make PS3 or 360 games look like Wii, just play it on a crappy TV via composite video. >;-)

The fall update in the rumor which was, of course, false, was *last year's* update.
Fall 2007.
The one that brought DiVX playback and all sorts of goodies.
IPTV os not going to be a wide-open 360 feature any time soon so it won't be made available by *any* dashboard update.
Its been asked and answered hundreds of time now, guys; it is up to the TV service provider (telc...

The current Robin is Bruce's son.
And a nasty bo-stick fighter in his own right.
I'd like to see who they bring in and if they get to use their powers or its just a punch-n-kick fighter.
Black Canary could be cool.
Karate Kid would rock.
Best would be Lobo, though. No need to tone down the fatalities for the Main Man.

...but he missed the single biggest sin:
Immersion.
Oblivion, Mass Effect, heck, even Two Worlds and Overlord... they all suck you in with a story that just flows and goes on and on. You start a session and the next thing you know, its five hours later. It becomes *your* adventure, your story, your character.

JRPGs?
Every minute or so, they break the spell.
You're walking down the trail...Zap! Off to some magical combat arena...

Developers who trust (or know) they have a good game *want* you to have a demo; developers who fear (or know) they have a turkey, don't.

Tells you why Nintendo doesn't want demos and Sony says sometimes yes--sometimes no.

Its like movies: duds are never offered for early review.

They've recently said they saw little merit in FPS games (as compared to other genres) so it may be they're not sure about Haze itself being worthy of publishing. They're already too far gone on PS3 to stop that version, but odds are that if the game underperforms on PS3, they'll can it for 360 and PC, blaming the game for the failure.

Odds are, the game is going to have to get extraordinary reviews for them to sink money into the ports...

Lower prices mean higher volume and they just increased production capacity by 5 million for the rest of the year.
http://www.xbox-scene.com/x...
Sales went up by 40%?
They *added* 40% manufacturing capacity.
So MS obviously thinks the spike will last.
No amount of FUD is going to change that.

...as those TV shows.
In truth, Shepard and the Spectres map better to Kimball Kinnison, Gray Lensman, and the Lensmen Series, than Star Wars. DOC SMITH is the source from which *everybody* steals. (You just wish they admitted it more often.)
Jedi's were *not* the first Space Knights/Cops, you know.
Lucas stole from Doc Smith.
If you haven't read them, pick up GALACTIC PATROL and GRAY LENSMAN and the rest of Doc Smith's works (Skylark Series, etc) and be amazed at ...

They had a few tricks up their sleeves they let out for this one.

Its about the scale of Virmire.
At first it looks like Armstrong Cluster but you quickly discover they have a few tricks up their sleeves.
(On insanity, level 60) it gets very, very intense. "Kicking Batarian ass" turns out to be literal; they get so close and in your face you end up killing more than your share by rifle-butting and stomping them to death. They didn't throw much in the way of biotics my way, but the rocket drones and batarian engineers were all over th...

Been there, done that.
On PCs and XBOXes, anyway...
The editorial seems NINTENDO-focused so they may never have played KOTOR (with its big perspective changing reveal), Jade Empire, or DEUS EX and DEUS EX: Invisible War, which forces you to choose among factions you've been fighting (or none of them) to determine the fate of humanity.
When it first came out, Halo's story and twist made a significant impact, as did Halo2 (though not everybody appreciated it).

...because the government has outrageous import taxes on electronics. That simple.
Has nothing to do with MS.
(India is the same.)
Betcha the poster doesn't want you to see what a PS3 or even Wii sells for down there. And both are also sold bundled, precisely to add value because of the monster taxes.
60% import fees for starters.
Then add markups and sales taxes...

Yawn.
