Too many games these days lack up to 4 player local play, plus my internet connection is too crap house for online play. I love having two or three friends over and playing the N64 or playing games and networking several xboxs together (I wish more games on the PS3/PS4/Xbox 360/Xone did this).
I don't mind waiting, I wasn't quite happy with the character lineup and Arcsys generally makes an upgraded version (complete?) version at some point. I guess it depends if your willing to wait or not, or if Arcsys makes an downloadable upgrade for the game.
It depends on how big we're talking and what's out there. I got excited in FF13 when it finally opened up on grand pulse but got bored after 5 or 10 mins. Skyrim's open world was boring for me apart for the odd shananagin I got up to. Plus I like to have plenty of marking and area names to help me to get around otherwise I get lost (just like in real life, meh, I have no sense of direction). I did highly enjoy Assassin's Creed Black Flag's open world and I find it plenty h...
@insomnium2 No, Abbajesus is right, electronics get better as they get smaller. So the 14/16nm jump next year will be a huge performance increase (4k possible nao?) along with better efficiency. Current gen consoles will probably become obsolete graphics wise.
Good thing I didn't buy Guilty Gear Xrd yet (Hopefully they'll add a slew of new characters to make it worthwhile). I kind of expect then to make a more "complete version" well after release.
So excited for this, the premise sounds very unique. So I hope the gameplay and story turn out well.
I think they need to offer a different experience, to a degree, PS4/Xone are kinda samey when compared to each other. I'd blame their lack of third party support as one of the reasons why their losing out this gen.
I prefer about 6 months before release otherwise the wait is too painful or you just lose interest (FF15 or VS13 as it used to be).
Edit: sorry, double post (somehow).

I keep all my old consoles (still have a working N64 and PS2, although the PS1 seems to have dies of old age). I'll probably still play the PS3 for a couple of years after I get a PS4 like I did with the PS2/PS3.
That and the lack of backwards compatibility makes holding onto them even more important (that and having built up a large library of games over the years).
Once the PS4 library has built up a bit more and a slim version come out, then I'll ...
Is a slew of new games and a PS4 slim version asking for too much?
This is what I like about Playstation consoles in general. A wide diversity of genres to play, to an extent I enjoyed that on the PS3 and most likely will on the PS4. PS4 future is looking pretty bright when you look at the games lineup (current and future releases). It defiantly got a good head start this gen, it might reach the same level as PS2, only time will tell (just gotta keep pumping out those games and not shovelware).
Physical when?
For me, project diva is where it's at, I like guitar hero and it was my first rhythm game, but I prefer others over it.
I could have sworn they had mentioned it was but I can't find a source for that, go figure.
Please be excited... for a mobile game!
I'll be very suprised if this isn't a star ocean game (new/port or remake).
*Edit* This was supose to be a reply to the posts above. Posting fail.
I'm hoping for another future set one like Advanced Warefare except with multiplayer split screen (I really miss going 4 VS on the couch).
I would like them to encourage some more 3rd party support for the most part. I can't see why anyone would be against free publicity though, that's money you don't have to spend on advertising, unless you game/console is crap house.
Yes, If I remember right, the original Xbox didn't get popular until Halo came out, in turn that probably attracted more console purchases and Dev interest in the system. Pretty much every console has their system sellers that push those sales.
Yep, I brought it for Japanese games and RPGs. Just gotta cross my fingers and hope everything I want gets localized.
I do wish it got more support, but the games lineup for the Vita unfortunately doesn't have enough wide-spread appeal for it.
