I more or less agree with you two. Although I felt that the nose dive in quality started with X-2 and continued with 12, for the love of god I hope 13 is at least as good as X-2 or better. I wish they would go back to letting us control the whole party + use an ATB system like X-2, 9, 8, 7, ect... I really do miss it alot.
At the moment I can't imagine whether I'd like FF13 or not.
So I don't know what DQ is like but I know it's more popular in Japan then FF. Only Final Fantasy X-2 and FF12 were pretty bad and I wish online FF weren't numbered like the main FFs (e.g. FF11/FF14)as I don't play online RPGs.
I would like to see this site pitch the Breath of Fire series against another RPG series to see how it would fare.
This! A million times over. Although I feel that brand recognition takes a backseat as most people I talk to about games automatically assume I'm talking about the 360.
Random battles are annoying but acceptable. Personally I thought we would have had a ****storm over this list when I read the title but I'm pleasantly surprised.

This is generally why I try to hold back but still, something new and better always comes out shortly after.
This! This a billion times over, although I wasn't keen on the battle system either as I really don't like MMORPGs which FF12's was heavily based on.
Wait... What? If your going to pin the decline of the series on anyone game it would have to be FFX-2 or FF12. FFX was overall a great game even if you do pick on it for any of it's flaws.
I personally can't stand MMORPG myself which is a bit weird since I love RPGs, although I prefer to have the ATB system plus control over all of my characters. Apart from the story/characters, it's the only other thing I have against FF12.
They really don't need to change anything, Personally I think FF12 was SE's attempt at westernizing a jrpg. some loved it but some people will agree it's one of the worst final fantasies.
I don't like most wrpgs but I will happily play alot of jrpgs, you can pretty much count them as two different genres since a long time ago.
Although less moe/loli would be preferable, not that I recall seeing that much of it. Another point would be to target the right demographic...
But less spin-offs (compilation of FF7), and lower quality main games like FFX-2/FF12 (I know, lol opinions again). After I've played both FF13 and Versus 13, I'll probably have had my fill of that world and want FF14 to come out.
And no, that probably wouldn't be satellite broadband because that would cost over $100 a month for that huge amount of data. Australia really does suck when it comes to internet, low availability, speed, data caps.
But apparently 100MB connections are very common over there and very cheap. Although I'm pretty sure there is a datacap on your upload (30GBs).
But I've only played 1,2,3 (mainly just multi-player which is where the games really shine). Really it seems to be too much too quickly but something must be working in there're favor if it's selling well.

Personally I have always like the way the covers are done, simple and stylish and I have no trouble picking them out when they are on the store shelves or in my own video game collection for that reason.
Although I don't have the time to play as often because of work and money constraints.
We always get the white covers with simple logos, although I prefer it that way since it really distinguishes the series from all my other games. How many other games go with such simple cover designs? I can't really think of any off the top of my head except for maybe black and white (it had a simple design too right?).
But FF12 really was the worst (the plot/characters were executed badly). I even rate X-2 above 12, but my I have the following preferences for the games (only listing what I've played so fare): 7, X, 8, 9, X-2, 12. But to each his own I guess.

Shockingly, no. Some people think that 25Gigs is a huge datacap, plus some people accuse you of doing not so legal activities if you have more then lower plans. Personally I think we need to hurry up and build the Fiber To The Home network so we can have cheaper broadband (we'd still have data caps even then).
With all the spin that goes on, the average Australian thinks our broadband infrastructure/plans are A'OK.
