and i'm looking forward to part 3.
i'm not going to buy any game based off of it, but i'm definitely going to see the movie.
my wife isn't a big fan of the Toy Story movies (except for the part when the Toys come to life and scare Syd).
i'm a big fan of Pixar's movies (Up was great, although The Incredibles is still probably my favorite), so i'm always interested in what they are working on next.
ALL NEW sports/activities so it won't be copying off of the Wii?
i mean, what OTHER kinds of games are you going to make with a motion controller?
i suppose a knitting game would be unique and new, but also pretty f*cking BORING.
it's a given that the things showing off the motion controls will be familiar.
i mean, seriously. we all KNOW it's a blatant copy-cat designed to leech off of the success of the Wii, but what did you expect?
...
false headlines.
Molyneux said NOTHING about being unconvinced by Move.
he said it's "similar to the Wii," and it IS.
this site is trying to stir up controversy by putting words in developer's mouths.
that's simply not cool at all.
i can say, YES, they DO just churn sh*t out.
and if this is the best quality they can do when they are allegedly "not" churning sh*t out, i don't want to see what swill they'll be producing when they start "just churning sh*t out."
Activision is a cancer on the gaming industry. they make a lot of money, but NONE of that is going into quality gaming software.
even EA and Ubisoft produce INFINITELY better games than Activision.
in the end, hardcore gamers still get God of War 3, we still get The Last Guardian, we still get Gran Turismo, we still get Wipeout, Twisted Metal, Agent, Resistance 3, Killzone 3, Uncharted 3, etc etc.
it's not like they built a WHOLE console around the premise of motion controls, and basically forced every developer working on said console to produce motion controls for it.
if all Move ever does is pander to the casuals, it's not going to hurt the hardcore bunch. ...
the Games DEVELOPMENT Conference?
i always thought, and forgive me if i'm wrong here, i always thought that the GDC was for the gaming industry to get jazzed about developing games by seeing what tech/peripherals they will have at their disposal to help game DEVELOPMENT.
the only reason games like Little Big Planet were revealed at GDC, was because the type of game that it was was relatively new and unique, and it inspired the development community to think more crea...
Playstation "Move"
or
Playstation "Motion"
i can't find the link though.
Move is appropriate.
at least those 360 owners that bought that version are actually PLAYING IT. at least, i hope they are.
it annoys me that the only reason it seems like people root when a game goes multi-platform isn't because they want to play the game, but to rub it in that it's no longer exclusive.
believe me, if Mass Effect came to the PS3, i'd be buying it to PLAY, not to gloat. granted, i already own both on the 360, but i'm just saying.
many fanboys on this site ta...
i'm not saying my way is the right way, but when i'm writing reviews on my site, my own personal criteria that i use across all games is:
1) Controls: Does the game have comfortable, intuitive controls? If a game has poor controls, this will 100% affect the quality of the experience. An example of good controls would be inFAMOUS. an example of bad controls would be Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness.
2) Graphics: Do the visuals match the style/tone of the game, and do th...
back in 2007, but i have no desire to get a 3D TV anytime soon.
in truth, 3D stuff gives me a headache.
i absolutely LOVED Avatar in 3D, but that 2.5 hour movie length was pushing it.
i play games for, at LEAST 5 hours when i sit down to play.
i can't imagine playing a 3D game for that long without wanting to barf.
3D gaming is neat and all, but the long term usage is what concerns me.
i'm buying my wife her own HDT...
thanks Xbox 360 and your outdated DVD drive.
this is getting ridiculous now.
gamers are now paying MORE MONEY for LESS content than they got last generation, and it's 100% due to the Xbox 360.
i'm sure Mafia 2 will be a good game, but i'm not paying $60 for it.
i'm sorry.
sure, you can stretch out the play time of a sandbox game, but Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, what i think to be, still, the best representation of what a &quo...
to me and my wife's new apartment, i had to get rid of a LOT of comics.
i kept as many as i could find room for, and i kept the graphic novels (they're on the bookshelves, of course), but single issues, i simply didn't have the space for long boxes.
i gave away most of the ones that i didn't have a truly deep connection to, but i kept a lot of my favorites (Spawns, Gen 13s, Liberty Meadows, Boneyard, etc).
i think, in the end, not counting the ones on th...
but i usually just rent movies using Netflix, and i prefer to own a hard copy of movies/games when i can.
although it IS nice to have options available.
i guess if you see something that you REALLY want to watch, and are too impatient to wait for it to arrive via Netflix, it's a useful thing to be able to see.
i wish the comic book store was available on the PSN, but then again, i have a Marvel comics membership, which is about $10 a month, and you can r...
"you want Blu Ray, go buy a PS3?"
that'd be WAY more counterproductive, i think...
anyway, what else are they going to say? their console doesn't support HD movies (via disc).
their console doesn't support a larger disc format PERIOD, and they have to live with it, and spin it as best they can.
it's like when Sony had to come up with spin for not having rumble in the PS3. WE ALL knew it was because of the litigation with Immersion ...
i can see a big change in focus from developers.
that is to say, the return of some 3rd party exclusives.
the last thing you want to do is piss of a developer by limiting his creative options.
do you not think that developers look at games like Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, and God of War 3, and think, "man, we could TOTALLY do a game like that, but we have to go for 'console PARITY,' so we have to make sure we can fit EVERYTHING on one DVD, or design th...
when it was the 360 versions of Ghostbusters, Bioshock, Assassin's Creed 1 and 2, Fallout 3, Bayonetta, etc that were on top in comparison to the PS3 versions, it was:
360 fanboys: HAW HAW! THE CELL PHAILS AGAIN!!
PS3 fanboys: It doesn't matter, the game play is still the same!
now that Final Fantasy XIII PS3 is on top of the 360 version it's"
360 fanboys: It doesn't matter, the game play is still the same!
PS3 fanboys: Th...
if you have a counter to my statement, PLEASE, deliver it. otherwise, you've contributed NOTHING to the conversation and can take your sh*t elsewhere.
is about game DEVELOPMENT, Microsoft would have, at the LEAST had a panel about NATAL development. maybe showing off some tech and software to jazz developers up about the platform.
GDC isn't for E3 sized "Megatons," but about game development.
it's where the creative minds of the industry go to get inspired.
it's kind of like how i, as an artist, will hang out with my other art buddies, and show off our artwork to one another, then absorb what...
