i'm going to sit down and play through Chains of Olympus, follow that up with God of War 1, then God of War 2, and by Tuesday, i'll be prepped for God of War 3.
i'll be replaying COO, GoW1, and GoW2 on Easy, so i should be able to blast through them in no time flat.
i think it was 12AM Sunday morning when i made my post. lol. i didn't even realize what time it was.
so, yeah, it's two days away for me too! time travel confirmed!!
are you one of those time travelers from overseas again?
for me, it's still 3 days away here in the US.
hotly anticipated by their fans.
i'm hoping for Dark Cloud 3, but it could just as easily be another Professor Layton title.
i'm loving White Knight Chronicles. it's a very addicting RPG, different for Level 5, and yet still feeling like a Level 5 game.
it'll be interesting to see how this performs when having to run OTHER game code like AI, physics, animations, etc.
but it looks really, really good. Unreal Engine definitely needed an upgrade, and it looks like it's got it.
but their elitist attitude is pretty much unquestionable. lol.
i think it stems from the fact that for over 20 years, the PC has always been the leader in technology (and still is), but this is the first generation EVER, i think, where console technology has been able to match PC technology.
i say match, because, outside of Crysis, what OTHER slew of PC games push the tech like that?
the majority of PC games released these days aren't much better than th...
there is no WORSE fanboy.
there is also a HUGE difference between, say, an Xbox 360 FAN, and an Xbox 360 FANBOY. same applies to Nintendo and Sony fans/fanboys.
just because a person has a preference for one over the other, say, Xbox 360, doesn't make them a fanboy.
the problem is that people confuse the two way too often.
just because i prefer the Playstation, doesn't mean i'm a Playstation fanboy (although, after having been a PS fan since...
Half Life, Portal, and Left4Dead to the PS3 in order for me to be even REMOTELY interested in their stuff anymore.
don't get me wrong, Half Life and Portal are FANTASTIC, but the Source engine is insanely outdated, and, forgive me for sounding snobbish, but the PS3 community is accustomed to a rather higher standard of gaming than what Valve has produced this generation so far. Half Life 2 was released pretty much BEFORE this generation started, and it was amazing.
i...
remake Killzone: Liberation, but for the Playstation 3, using the Killzone 2 engine.
keep it 3rd person, however, and make it a downloadable title (Killzone: Liberation wasn't very long, so i think you could easily make it a downloadable title, although a disc release wouldn't be bad), and charge $30 for it.
i'd snap it up in a jiffy.
on the flip side, i'd LOVE to see the Killzone 2 engine used in another genre. a true Survival Horror game with that leve...
this is the kind of sh*t that kills franchises before they even BEGIN.
Heavenly Sword for example, was pegged as "Goddess of War," early on, because of a FEW similarities (anyone who actually PLAYED Heavenly Sword knows that you hardly ever use her "Kratos like" chain attack. you pretty much fight with the sword in one or two pieces), and that franchise was murdered by reviewers holding it up to GoW standards, and not it's own merits.
Killzone was...
in my opinion, it didn't really do anything to spoil me, as there is a MONUMENTAL difference between watching someone playing a game, and experiencing it for yourself.
just watching the video, i was thinking of how i would have done things differently than the guy playing it. maybe a different attack or tactic here, etc.
i only watched the first four parts though, then i stopped.
what i saw though, was simply breath-taking. the design of this game is so ...
the Wii has proven that Motion Controls are profitable.
the PS3 and Xbox 360 have proven that the HD market is alive and growing substantially.
from where i'm standing, it looks like Microsoft and Sony can have their cake and eat it too.
they get the BEST of both markets: the HD fanatics, and the Motion Control fanatics.
can the Wii boast the same? no.
the Wii looks like a blurry mess on my 40" HDTV.
the though...
because their Playstation 3 titles have been nitpicked and dragged through the mud even though they were some of the BEST titles available on the platform.
Resistance: Fall of Man was a REALLY quality FPS. the single player campaign was engaging and scary, and the MP was rock solid with 40 players.
Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction was a great entry into the R&C series, and it had AMAZING visuals often compared to Pixar movies (we all know it's not t...
game play mechanic is to SHOOT THINGS, apparently has "weak shooting," and yet it STILL lands a 9/10?
am i the only person who sees the conflict here?
i think the current gaming media is shooter crazed. if you can point a gun at something and pull those delightful little trigger buttons on the 360, then add 2 points to the score.
i'm not saying Metro 2033 will be a poor game, or doesn't deserve a 9/10 score, hell, it could be like Darksiders fo...
Moly!
this shot is amazing:

produce that milk in 6-8 month intervals, then sue the cow for "breech of contract" after it sells MILLIONS (or is it MOO-Illions)?
A console that is known to have the worst failure rate of ANY console hardware in the industry,
and
A substandard port of a MUCH BETTER Playstation 3 title?
i'd be pretty annoyed at that "prize" also.
it's a known fact that FFXIII on the 360 is NOT the best version of the game. it's been proven time and time again.
sure, it's PERFECT for the Xbox 360 only owner that has no choice but to get the 360 version, but that do...
but that didn't stop many families who bought the Wii for $250 to spend the additional $80 each for additional Wii remotes and nunchucks, boosting the "total" price of the Wii to $490.
you'd be surprised at what families are willing to spend their money on.
but i agree that Natal is being perceived as the "innovator" by the masses, and therefore "better."
i also find it amusing that the EyeToy, which is to Natal what the Wii...
because i said the exact same thing about being curious as to why Microsoft wasn't at GDC pimping Natal to developers.
i mean, it's the Game DEVELOPERS Conference.
it's designed purely for the powers in the gaming development community to show off the tech they're using, and fire up all the developers.
it's not a show like E3, where it's more competitive, and publishers/developers are trying to one up one another with their awesome games.
i...
but i have to say that Square is just ALL OVER THE PLACE this generation.
Square, find a FOCUS, and STICK WITH IT.
personally, i think Final Fantasy XIII is a FANTASTIC RPG (well, from what i've played of the JP version; can't get the US version until i get more cash), and there is nothing wrong with how you've explored and experimented with the FF series over the years (since FFVII, each FF has been different in terms of game play, not just story and characters). <...
