as far as i can tell from looking at the end of this year, and towards next year, Sony has addressed, *IS addressing these concerns.
"1.) Sony please release games that have little-to-no bugs, is playable, and is worth what you are about to fork over for it."
um, Heavenly Sword isn't buggy (ie, no random crashes and freezes, and only minor slowdown, though i've only encountered slowdown once or twice during my playthrough). the article sites Lair (of co...
40" LCD Samsung, 720p, and once me and my fiance move into our new apartment at some point during the new year, i'll upgrade to a larger set (not sure how big yet), and move the 40" into the bedroom.
HDTVs are awesome, period. i can't imagine gaming and watching movies without them.
Game Trailers blows (and their videos are *HARDLY HD).
Best Trailer? "Massive Attack" from Uncharted, or take your pick from the MGS4 trailers. the DMC trailers are cool and all, but for drama and bad@ssery, "Massive Attack" is one of the best.
Best FPS? Bioshock or Call of Duty 4 (and i don't even *LIKE COD4, but it's better than Halo 3). my vote is for Bioshock, however.
Best Graphics? Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, hands down, ...
i bought an HDTV is because i had a PS3, and it is an HD multi-media platform.
i don't regret the purchase in the least, and i'm actually *STARVING for more HD content.
i'm a gamer first and foremost, and *NOTHING beats playing video games on a big screen TV, and in crisp, clear High Def.
of course, movies and TV shows don't look bad either (granted, i don't watch as many shows in HD, since i don't have a subscription; lol, i guess the article was ...
so many PS3 games are expected to be above and beyond the call of duty. to revolutionize gaming in *EVERY WAY possible, and do it all in 4D and 120 fps.
it's a ridiculous expectation that has skewed the perceptions of quite a few quality games on the PS3 this year (ie, Folklore, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, and Unreal Tournament 3).
as for Unreal Tournament 3, i *WAS NOT an Unreal fan. i had never played the games, so i neither loved or hated it....
my thoughts:
1.) movie and television downloads: i'm not going to ever download television shows onto my console. why? because why should i pay for something that i can watch for free on TV, or download from the net? as for movies, i prefer to actually own a hard disc, as opposed to downloading it. i'm a special features kind of person, also.
2.) cross game chat: well, i *GUESS that's cool. i've never had any desire to talk to anybody *WHILE i was playing a game ...
i love how a lot of you guys disagree with my previous post, but none of you actually *ANSWERED my question. i seriously wanted to know this information, and not a single one of you could help me out.
fanboy ridiculousness aside, i legitimately wanted to know *WHY Live is considered superior to the PSN, and no one could answer me.
for my own personal gaming tastes and needs (*IMPORTANT NOTE: i'm *NOT an online gamer 95% of the time), the PSN suits me just fine.

to copy the files over repeatedly, but i used two memory stick duo's, my digital camera memory stick, and my fiance's external USB HDD, with a mod on each.
then i went into Unreal Tournament 3 on my PS3, and imported them from each (of course, i had to swap memory sticks, but the USB HDD, and the digital camera memory stick were fine; each of them showed up in the UT3 import menu).
there are a few facts to consider about UT3 on PS3 mods before flying off the handle.
1.) this is the *FIRST TIME in console gaming that something like this has been attempted (as far as i know)
2.) Unreal Tournament 3 hasn't even been on the PS3 for *THREE WEEKS, and people expect this system to run perfectly. give it time.
3.) Have we already forgotten that UT3 was supposed to be *DELAYED until sometime next year? but Epic, being holiday sales co...
and Bioshock doesn't *NEED mutliplayer.
those are my only major complaints about this list. i don't agree with all of it, but it's close enough that i don't feel the need to go into the stuff i disagree about. it's all minor anyway.
the fact that i can enjoy *BOTH Ratchet and Uncharted, so i don't have to choose!
if i *HAD to, of course, i'd go with Uncharted, but man is it a hard choice to make.
exactly *WHAT are these mysterious "extra features" i keep on hearing about when it comes to X Box Live over the PSN?
on the PSN, i get to
have a friends list
download demos
download trailers
download wallpapers
download themes
purchase new games
purchase old classics (from the arcade and PS1)
purchase add on content for games (ie, the new Warhawk: Omega Dawn expansion)
chat with friends through text
that the game would look better than the PS3 games we've seen so far, considering that it will be a *THIRD GENERATION 360 title, while we are only in the *SECOND GENERATION PS3 titles (i know, it's hard to believe that games like Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank Future are *FIRST GENERATION titles; Unreal Tournament 3 was the first of the second generation PS3 titles, as it came out after the first year. Uncharted came out on the 20th, but that's awfully close to the 17th of November, so i cou...
no, it's not perfect, and the controls take a while to get used to, but the music, story, and art design was great, and once i got past a particularly frustrating mission, i had become a frigging dragon *MASTER when it came to controlling the dragon. but of course, it's the in thing to bash Lair, especially from people who have *NEVER EVEN PLAYED IT. at least i can say i gave it a shot, beat it, and was pleasantly surprised by the game that was there, if not blown away. a solid 7/10. i'd give...
that...that was a *CRAPPY list.
i get FFXIII (it's on my list too)
and Little Big Planet (ditto)
and MGS4 is a no brainer, and Home has enough hype that i understand it being on the list too.
...but *TUROK?
the dinosaur hunter?
what the hell is going on here??
there are so many games with incredible potential and bonafide AAA status hitting the PS3 that a 5 game list just isn't long enough.
...
Nintendo DS - handheld
Playstation 2 - console
think about it.
that's all i have to say about this story.
Star Ocean 4 is a PS3 exclusive.
could go mutli-platform, however, but looking at 360 sales in Japan, it's unlikely.
takes up 5 gigs of my HDD on my PS3.
the 5 gigs for DMC4 isn't a problem for me, as i still have 22 gigs free out of 60, and i haven't done any HDD cleaning (ie, getting rid of old demos and videos).
i also have my fiances 80gig external HDD if i really need to offload stuff onto that, and still be able to access it from my PS3.
eventually, maybe, if it becomes necessary, i'll buy an extra large HDD, partition it, install Linux on one half, and hav...
is a PC game too, you know.
it's more than possible that it could look better than Crysis, *ON THE PC.
i'm not saying it *WILL, just that it's possible.
even if it doesn't, it still looks like an intriguing game.
if MGS4 comes to the 360 or not (and good for X Box fans if it does) because a few things are going to happen with it:
1.) 360 fans *WON'T buy it. have you all forgotten what happened the *LAST time an MGS game came to an X Box console? it was called Metal Gear Solid 2 Subsistance (or was it Sustinance? hell, i can't remember). X Box owners *DIDN'T buy it. they loved their Splinter Cell too much. the only reason they wanted MGS on the X Box was so PS2 fans couldn't say "Me...
