Rumble was never terrible important to me, but the tilt function is pretty much crap because no game has really made an appealing use out of it. Besides those two points, I simply prefer it because I like the feel better. I like that it is really light weight and the battery lasts really long and it recharges fast too. As I said though, tilt sucks so far, and though I dont miss rumble, and couldn't hurt to have. I do like the 360 controller though. I also like it's feel but I think the b...
o Support for PLAYSTATION®3 format software titles has been expanded.
Can someone please explain that one. It still makes me laugh.
Six-Axis support is cool, but the 14 additional maps is what I'm really liking.
I never played Animal Crossing, but isn't it something like when you chat with a bot on AIM or something. Like SmarterChild on AIM, you can get it to repeat swear words that you've already said. Is that the case here, or are conversations in the game totally scripted?
If you couldn't guess by my Tag, my vote would go to FFVII.
I've said before that each system has its own strengths and the developers just need to play to those individual ones to achieve the same effects if they're developing a multi-platform game. All multi-platform games to date have been very equal. Yea, you may prefer one version of the other, but there isn't any one where one version is just plain crap.
As for this story, I have a little trouble believing it. It's a post of some dude saying EA called him? Hell, I could do that, but t...
and have had no problems. While I'm sure there are cases of bricked boxes, these stories are grossly exagerated. I mean everytime there is an update for the dashboard, game, or something else there is a post claiming that 360's worldwide are being bricked. Does it happen, sure, but not as much as its made to appear.
It sounds like a really neat concept, but I think they need to go with it further. Basically it looked like you threw a grenade that could either summon a vortex, pillar, boulder, wave, or make a bump. It nice to see it also had other advantages then just killing, like filling a gap. Other than that though, it looked like a sub-par third person shooter. So I'm not impressed yet, but I'll wait to see more before I make my decision.
It's not that you cant find games with the new maps, its that you cant find games period. That's exagerating now. But normally if I search for a rank game with any type and round number, I'll get at least 7, usually more listed. But after downloading the maps the most I could find was 2. The matches themselves are fine, but it the search results are just poor.
I'm not going to bother reading all the comments so if my question was already answered then sorry, but ... if that is how the Devs feel, then why exactly do they feel like that. And what specifically do they mean couldn't be achieved? The graphics? The AI? And even if there is a reason I'm not inclined to believe them. I don't see how Splinter Cell is pushing the envelope to where the PS3 couldn't handle it. And I'm not being a fanboy. I felt the same way when Faction5 said they didn'...
If you don't own a 360 already, and HDMI/bigger HDD is important to you than the Elite is very appealing. So for those two reasons alone I think the extra $80 is justified. However, I would have loved to see more improvements in the Elite, which is what a lot of people are disapointed in. A lot of people were hoping for a 65mm chip, I know I was. And I still don't understand why they didn't have the quieter BenQ drives. My Elite has the other one, the Hitachi I think :(. And the motherbo...
"What would you think about a developer that anounce a game for the PS2, DS, wii, 360 or any other console that does not come with a hard drive. Then, one year later starts b!tch!ng about i.e. the DS should have at least 5GB built in memory so I can add something stuff I need to add for my game. That developer is an idiot! You design with a patform in mind, period!. "
And those developers would tell you to STFU. Of course you develop with a platform in mind. But if ...
Working on the 360 is more constraning. Developers have to program with the base audience in mind (No hard drive and DVD9). With the PS3 the lowest is (20 GB HDD and Blu-Ray). Now that doesn't mean the PS3 version is superior, or the 360 sucks, or that any one system is better, but what it does mean is that there is more room to work with on the PS3. So yes, it is a possability that a game can be 'held back from its full potential' on the PS3 if it is also being developed for the 360. Wi...
The next big flame article.
I've been waiting for a better version and sure enough it came.
Good thing I preordered mine on gamestop (just a couple hours before they stopped too :) ). Should be waiting for me on my doorstop when I get home from school tomorrow. Now with the sweet black 360 sitting next to my PS3 under my black HDTV, my gaming station is complete.
I know Walmart is cheap, but that rumored price was insane. I did believe it though because of all the news on how Blu Ray was winning you figured HD-DVD had something coming. O well.
It just goes to show the giant MS is to loose so much money from its game division and still make a profit in the billions. At least the money they're spending is on a quality console with more great games coming out. No other company could afford to do what MS is doing. (I.E. actually making a console to compete with the once godly Sony)
I'm really disapointed they didn't switch to the 65mm chips. It would have helped a bit with the heating. Because of that, really the only people who have a justifiable reason of wanting the Elite would be download and store junkies who don't have a 360 yet. (or if you really just want the cool black finish)
Not that it would change results, but it makes it easier to see the difference. Vegas may look better on the 360. But I dont think it's at the point where someone can say the PS3 version looks like sh*t. Of course someone may say that, but I don't think so. 360 looks better, yea. PS3 still looks pretty good. I think a better comparison would be to compare exclusives. They bring out the best in a console. PS3 is lacking em right now. Tools of Destruction will be a good showcase for PS...
