I think its funny he puts all the blame on Sony for not finishing off Nintendo. First off, Nintendo isn't going anywhere and no one is going to finish them off, but if you were going to put the blame on someone, it would have to be MS and Sony, not just Sony.
RFOM is more like Halo than GOW. I think that's the comparison he was trying to make. And just because he compared it doesn't mean he said it was as good. He was just stating that their are similarities.
If you couldn't find one game out of the hundreds for the ps2, then you're just incredable hard to please.
I'm glad to see that Sony is finally stepping up production, and more importantly, that the demand for the ps3 is still there.
Developers cant ignore the large fan base that the 360 has, and the currently small PS3 base. This is totally in Sega's personal interest and a pretty good one as far as making money goes.
But I think Sony really doesn't mind it because they are a business. So getting an extra liscensing fee off of Blu Ray is good income wise for them.
I agree that being narrow minded is a bad thing, but it seems you're being narrow minded. The PS2 is the best selling consule of all time with more hits than people can count. To just dismiss the PS2 is narrow minded.
I think the 360 and more so the PS3 were over hyped at launch. One thing that everyone said in common though that I have to agree with is that around the same time next year, the picture will relatively even for all the consules, except for the Wii as there is a possability that some will view it as a novality rather than a legit system.
I agree that its a little hard to believe that it's the second best this year, but maybe considering that handhelds are considerably less then their big consule brothers it's possible. I'd still like to see a graph or something proving it though. But instead of looking at it as a race, I think it shows that the PSP has taken root and has an audience. I didn't think from the start that the PSP would dominated the handheld market, but I'm impressed that they have secured their own place in a lo...
* You'll see that almost no one talked about the sales of the three systems, and instead...
My comment was based off of the other comments on this article. See, that's what conversation is. Conversation usually grows into another topic. Read the rest of the comments. You'll see that almost no one actually talked about the cost of game development, and instead this forum just turned it to 360 vs. PS3. However, I made a valid point in a decent manner instead of mindlessly droning on like a fanboy. So try not taking a hissy fit next time.
I think they went in a good direction.
First off, I love the PS3 and Xbox 360. Yes, the 360 has a better GPU which means better graphics, however, the PS3 is much more capable in physics calculations (i.e. explosions, multiple enemies). There are of a ton of people pushing graphics here saying what is better, but really, it's getting to the point where the difference is so small in graphics. Physics card sales for the PC have steadily increased over the years, so more people are looking for realism. Now the PS3 wont make 360 games...
The PSX was a flop, but the key idea here is this AV-PS3 will be directed for video junkies. This will be for the people who are soley hung up on the picture and not the games. I don't think there is that many people out there willing to pay 2500, but for those who will, nice stuff.
He wasn't pointing out one game. He used GOW so you all would read. Besides the title, the article doesn't single out a single game. It's about all new releases in general.
I can't wait for this toy.
PS3 has had the worst launch out of any system I have seen. But if you all remember, MS's was pretty bad too, but now that a year has gone by, it is standing solid. I think the same will be for Sony.
You did sound a little up tight about this article SuperSaiyan4. I look at it like this. A game that is basically being polished up for the third time will be released for the PS3, so it's going to be awesome. Secondly, the xbox never sold too many systems when compared to the others, so there is still a decent chunk of people who haven't played the game. So for everyone, and especially the ones who have never played it, it will be a amazing game.
It indeed looks awesome, but I am a little worried that this will turn out to be nothing more than a hack n slash. I like the general idea, but its just missing somekind of refinment. If somehow they can get a Shadow of Collosus (I know I spelled that wrong) feel to it, then I think this will turn out to be one of the better games in 07, regardless of what system its on.
It is another lose for Sony, but it has a long list of exclusives still. MS doesn't have as many exclusives, and depending on how sales go throughout 07, many might come back to the PS3, or stay on both platforms. A third possibility, the Wii bags all the exclusive titles, but that is more far fetched.
