I think there's something special about a silent protagonist...if done right. We can tell a lot through body language and through actions. But I don't want a character who just takes endless orders the entire game... Claude Speed (still a cool character somehow lol).

That's 2009 and possibly not entirely accurate so things have probably changed but per person we have much more cameras than China and probably every other country.

I cannot believe MP3 is selling half as good as la noire. Preordered MP3 on steam and got LA Noire free and MP3 is to me a far better game. It's also a lot more accessible to a wider audience because it's all action. Plus the name MP should be helping sales.

It's nothing to do with the timeline. Everyone knows TR has been around a lot longer, but it's also clear the new gameplay diretion has taken inspiration from Uncharted, which isn't a bad thing.
Conversely, the UC devs were probably influenced by the impact of Lara Croft and her adventures but gameplay wise UC and the original TR games don't have much in common (mainly due to the gaming conventions at the time compared to now).
It's a shame when someone's passion for gaming can't be taken at face value. I have to admit when I saw her presenting I was very sceptical that she was actually into gaming. I'm just used to seeing good looking women being used as tools for marketing.

Guns are now casual? Missed the memo, sorry. You're probably right that the one of the reasons they showed the gunplay and not just hacking is to excite more than a select few. But saying casuals would have found the game too complicated is silly.
The gun play was the icing on the cake for me. I don't think I would enjoy a game like this without a good combat system - and an open world game with only hand to hand combat or simply escaping situations would not be enoug...

I think if you drop from one ledge and grab onto a lower one it counts as 10 pull ups and you won't have to use the back pad. A good place to do it in the Tanker is the stairs on the left right at the start (maybe iirc).

I watched a couple of gameplay vids of Ghost Recon and thought it looked stupidly easy. With mark and execute, gadgets to spot enemies and stealth camo the game just looked far too easy.

Spot on with PES4. Played that game for years and haven't played a better footie game since. It just had an amazing feel with the ball at your feet. And you could actually beat players with pace which made 1 vs 1 matches really fun!
