Being a guy that's worked on 360s for a living, I can definitely attribute to that hypothetical example.....

Both games looks great, if you asked me to pick one, I'd ask you to just gouge my eyes out because that's how hard it is to pick between two incredibly looking games. Killzone 2 and Gears of War 2 can co-exist as great-looking games.

That doesn't excuse Valve from responsibility of their IPs. Even though EA made the PS3 Port, that's still Valve's product and integrity. A bad PS3 Port looks bad for Valve. The only time Valve can ever generalize gamers is when they fix the PS3 Port for Orange Box, otherwise Valve might as well be addressing their stockholders: by which they're the 360 and PC gamers.
We still have something called the PS3 Orange Box that still doesn't have the necessary fixes yet. Petition after petition, and even a website dedicated to the cause and it all falls on deaf ears.

People look down on the 360 on N4G for "unprecedented" reasons. I noticed you own a PS3 and 360 in your profile. That's good. It'll be PS2.5. Blu-Ray is the next step in optical evolution, why go back to cruddy DVD? I love PS3 because it always pushes the envelope of technology. It's a given that new-tech usually cost alot, so work with it or wait a year or two after debut for the prices to go down.
It's like going to a Gaming PC and downgrading the Video Card for a cheaper one that works just as well but is limited in future proofness; it just doesn't work that way. Geez, don't people have better thing...
