Even if it does come to the 360 the fact that this is an MMO means it's allowed to call for a HDD and a size meaning it won't have to compromise any other platorms version by releasing.
Unlike FF13, 14 can force 360 owners to have a HDD to play it so it will be exempt from the biggest negative issue claimed about ff13 (linearity).
Bad 360 game = crappy developer
Bad PS3 game = developer took advantage of the 360 hardware and the PS3 had no chance of getting an equal port.
SE definitely took advantage of some aspects of what the ps3 has to offer but what really shouldn't be ignored is the fact that having a 360 version (crappy port or not) still had a huge effect on the games outcome. linearity is not a coincidence.
The bad compression of the cgi scenes is 1 point. We get why the are sub-hd but why is the rest of the game?
They conserved disc space by heavily compressing the movies on the 360 version but why was the in-game sub-hd as well? It might have been for parity but cgi cut scenes don't look like the in-game graphics in the first place so what was it? Could a lower res in-game actually save space too or what?
They should've just bit the bullet and added another disc or t...
I noticed all these things (360 defending, PS3 downplaying) when I read the DF FF13 article but I had never read the bayo one for contrast. I also completely forgot who it was (in gaming media) that had made that extremely bold claim/speculation/prediction of the 360 version being better once the game finally got released. I remember that article clearly and even considered that the guy might end up right because of how well thought out it was. I even encouraged people not to boast about whic...
Doesn't Battle Field Bad Company 2 come out in march
BUT the difference in FF13 cut scenes is absolutely noticeable WITHOUT a side-by-side comparison. There CGI has HEAVY pixelation and blur, both signs of extremely poor compression. You DO NOT need to be a "pixel counter" to notice either.
Whether the 360 version should loose points for this all depends on the rating scale used. If it's out of 100, absolutely, out of 10 or F to A - maybe, but out of 5 i don't think it's worth dropping an entire point for.
Why isn't it posted here?
Admittedly, I only ever became interested in FF at FF8 and only because of my love of CGI cut scenes. Around ff10 was when I really started to enjoy everything about the games.
That said, to someone like me I'd want my money back if I were to buy a game and its CGI scenes had artifacts and blur the way the 360 version does in those comparisons. I often download HD movies and when I first started I was always disappointed with the sh1tty job PS3Video9 would do at re-encoding MKVs ...
Even xbox360.ign.com, the 360 division of IGN, was only given a PS3 build of the game for review purposes. Obviously this was intentional but after hearing about how great the 360 version actually looks from fans of the franchise (people who downloaded the 360 version) I wonder why SE has been trying so had to hide the other version.
Actually, like an epiphany, it just popped into my head. SE might just be passing out the PS3 version because its cheaper to give away than the 3 di...
What makes you think that?
Maybe Square doesn't want to be associated with a dead franchise and think a re-title will re-invigorate or re-establish the franchise.
Maybe It'll be different than the rest in either story or game play elements.
In any case, my interested in how it turns out and what they're able to do with Lara Croft (besides add ridiculous amounts of bounce)

No 3D gaming for you!
You fools actually watched it? o.O Why would you want an epic opening spoiled for you like that?
BUT after reading comments from people who have downloaded and played the 360 version the game is "still one of the most beautiful games to have graced their console".
Lower res doesn't really men much when you have comments like that so maybe we could stop bashing the 360 version and being on some revenge kick over all the times they do it to us? We ARE supposedly the "more mature gamers" right?
It's pretty obvious what Activision is trying to get away with here and 36 million is an incredibly small fraction of what that game and series has pulled in for them in profits.
Yeah, I hate that "review score is not an average" type BS. It doesn't make sense for 7 to be the lowest point value awarded to any one category and the overall score ending up as the same.
Nit picking has gone to a new level.
The kid was left at home alone?
Why didn't the chicks parents feed it while they were gone so long?
Geez, they admitted to feeding it rotten powered milk too...
This is without a doubt one of their biggest Q1s since the release of the PS3 and they're currently plagued with shortages all over NA. We all know GOW3 will be attracting/stealing 360 gamers and the people who haven't bought an HD console yet (for who knows what reason) and NA is FULL of interested, potential, buyers right now.
This seems to happen every time the PS3 gets on a roll and Sony really needs to stop underestimating their stock:demand ratio.
Speaking of...
It'll definitely be a contender for GOTY and it will almost certainly win online multi-player GOTY but there's definitely other noteworthy contenders coming out this year too.
The jetpacks seems like a genius idea when you think about what the fans of the series are use to and enjoy.
Question for the biggest fans of the series though: From that video, do you guys feel there might be too many players on those maps? It looks hecktic to me and I remember reading this Ha...
In those cases the games were PS3 exclusives. Had they been multi-platform who knows what his reasoning might have been to why one version feel short of the other.
You make a valid point but at the same time can you find a multi-platform title where he praises the PS3 version?
