Publishers/Devs need to manage their game budgets better, it's as simple as that.
I don't really see the need for a long discussion on it, if they're going to through over 100million at making a game they better be sure there's enough anticipation for that game so that it makes sense.

The features not being ready at launch go beyond day 1. I understand why you said that and yeah it's funny at base level but not having the ability to pre-load games isn't going to be patched in any time around launch and that's when it's going to matter, not day 1.

The complaint makes no sense, you never have to buy anything, if you want the game to be more enjoyable you pay, and you pick and choose the things you think are worth paying for. There's always some bundle price package making F2P games close to a regular retail purchase. You just said you don't have a problem with Killer Instinct because it has such a bundle yet for Deep Down you're instantly assuming there won't be one?

That is NOT why, SE just isn't making anyone buy the game twice. The people that bought the original FF14 were able to download A realm Reborn for FREE.

SE is only concerned with having subscribers, they might lower the game cost to $20 by the time the PS4 version is out. It's an online game with a paid monthly subscription, getting and keeping subscribers is all that matters, it's where they'll make most of their money.

I don't get why some parents are smart enough not to take their kid to an R-rated film yet dumb enough to buy them a Mature-rated game.
Think about it like this then:
Those other games that are offering the $10 upgrade are $60 games to begin with. FF14 Arr is $40 retail, it wouldn't even make sense to ask for the same $10 fee. These games just want you playing sooner, they want your money right away and to eventually sell you DLC. On top of that we are talking about a digital version. Allowing fans to download the digital version for free cost them nothing and keeps the fans interested.
