I purchased the CE of SFIV on day 1, and I logged over 80 hours over the next few months - so I am definitely being taken advantage of for the 8 additional characters/stages etc.

However... consider the individuals that held off purchasing SFIV. Now they can get it along with those additional bonuses for $30 - $40. Thats a great deal for them.

Further, this practice isn't much different than companies that release Game of the Year editions.

Capcom has already said it will be a discounted title. I imagine it will be $30 or $40 when it comes out.

I am looking forward to the game. I hope they double the amount of stages available, that will keep it fresh.

Plain and simple, Natal is underwhelming and has been done before. Don't give me crap about its amazing camera and processor technology -this functionality can be found in attempts made by the Dreamcast, the PS2 and the PS3. If pushed by any other company, the product would fail and quickly fade from memory. It is Microsoft's awesome marketing the will lead to Natal Success.

Microsoft, in addition to being deceptive and cunning, have mastered the art of marketing. At E3, they ...

Making money on the console itself, or the PS3 as a whole?

Only nintendo makes money on their console. Thats not how this industry works. But here is your article:

Given the fact the world is ending in 2012 -

If 35% of xboxes failed to RROD heat related issues, do you honestly think they will survive 'end of the world strength' heat? I doubt it.

The wii will beat both given the fact that even with 5,000,000 destroyed, there are still a billion in the wild.

By Pachters guess, PS3 will take second place by default.

Irony is a ground commonly tread by fanboys. Ironic, that the same fanboys that for months have scoffed at nintendo for their "gimmicky" controls, and have discounted Sony for its "less than impressive" controller-less eye toy input - now applaud Microsoft for its Natal efforts at redefining gaming? And as a result, they 'won' E3? I am glad that everyone is happy that Microsoft took the pile of sh t on the lawn and crafted it into a bigger pile of sh t. Wonderfull.

Zipper Interactive is a part of Sony's Worldwide Studios. So no.

You aren't considering development momentum.

With the 360 -

Every developer had more time to research 360s technology, and create workflows and engines/tools.

This being so, you can really only compare Sony's second year+ on the market with Microsofts data. It was very rare for companies to go multiplat when the PS3 was first released, this was due to the fact devs were still investigating the platform.

Now-
If you look at ...

"You have to pay for everything from payroll to free soda. Benefits to morale events. Hiring expenses and firing expenses."

No you don't. These companies are independant to Sony despite being a subsidiary. The only interactions Sony has with most of these studios is the occasional dog and pony and final approval/QA. Developers have said, that while Sony makes suggestions during development, they give devs enough freedom to make final decisions on the game's direction...

Maybe the writer thought it would be clever to use the old Nintendo/Sega War advertisement. "Sega has what Nintendo-n't"

Seems amature regardless.

I am somewhat of a final fantasy fan, and while I don't particularly care if it is on the 360 as well, any further delay of a japanese release and my mind would convince itself the game isn't a reality but a figment of its imagination.

The last time I heard, FFXIII wasn't being released in Japan for 360.(Western Release only) Did something change?

I would think that if a parent was buying a PS3 for their family/8 year old might prefer a cheaper 40gb system with LittleBigPlanet rather than the more expensive 80gb with the mature rated Killzone 2.

And Halo Wars isn't bundled in Austrailia, it is included outside of the box.

The fact that you spend so much time in caplocked posting shows how worthless you are. If you aren't going to attempt restraint in your fanboy rants, the party is next door in the 'open zone' - read the user agreement. FACT.

"Story line sucks." Why?
"controls sucks." Why?
"the characters suck." Why? and compared to who?

That is funny. I wonder though:

"Asked the guy why there are already used copies and he said people were returning it because they thought it was going to be better... He also said that those 5 people who returned KZ2 bought a PS3 for the game and returned their PS3 as well and decided to just buy a 360 for the cheaper price..."

What did they think Killzone 2 would be better than if they didn't have a 360 or any current gen games to compare it to... Pl...

"Does this take into account that Microsoft is running a deal that if you purchase a 360 you get Halo Wars for free?"

Did'n sony make a bundle with ps3/killzone2, were the game is free?

In Europe...

PS3 80gb + Killzone2 389€"

Yes, but in the UK, a potentially buyer has the choice whether to buy the 80gb System without Killzone 2 and a 40gb System without Killzone 2; Microsoft, no matter the system you purc...

I bought my copy of Halo Wars at gamestop yesterday used - Sitting next to 4 other used copies. I asked an employee why there were already used copies, he said that they had been returned because the customers didn't realize it was an RTS and not an FPS.

If anything it is a testament to the strength of the Halo brand, not necessarily a reflection of the game itself. As I mentioned earlier, I am enjoying the game, but it is no Killzone 2.

I think that if Killzone...

Seems like it would skew the numbers a bit if they were counted. Oh well, they are both good games. I am a big fan of Killzone 2 but I am enjoying Halo Wars as well.

Its good to see that people are embracing Killzone 2, it definitely deserves its praise. I just finished the game yesterday, I know I will be flamed for this but I actually enjoyed the Single Player more than Half Life 2 and Crisis.
