This game is already on my blacklist, which sucks since I'm always looking for new FPS to play. I won't buy Activision/Blizzard games any more though.
Why are stores still selling this game for $50 if it has indeed died? Best Buy, Gamestop, Fred Meyer etc. All these stores in my area are still selling this title for $49.95.....
Yeah I was surprised when they went over to Activision :( Much as I was looking forward to it, I'll be passing up on Black Ops as well. I supposed I should have quoted "New Games" in there, my bad on that.
I would say that it falls to us then to make sure they know. Personally, I repost these articles on a lot of the lesser known gaming boards the I use. The more I repost, the more gamers are made aware.
Don't know that it will help or not but I'm not just going to sit around and bitch about him. I'll do whatever I can because if even one gamer stops buying their products, I'll know I've helped a little.
Y'know, I used to be pissed whenever I read these articles but thinking about it, it really doesn't bother me at all. Kotick is simply doing what any business would do, maximizing profits. Sounds insane doesn't it? But seriously, if someone offered YOU free money, wouldn't you take it?
These guys stay in business because people continue to buy their games! The typical situation goes like this:
"I hate Kotick, he completely sucks!, wha...
And yet they still charge the same as retail even though you get no physical media, no packaging, have no shipping expenses etc.... In essence you pay the same price to get less product.
Seems to me it's the dumbass developers that are screwing themselves with all this "Exclusive" crap. Exclusives are nothing more than a failed attempt to sell consoles while losing profit on the games!
Lets take Halo for instance since Reach is the subject of debate lately. Now personally, I'll admit I liked the first Halo, didn't really care for the 2nd one but I still play the first one on PC. It was a damned good game when it first came out. Kinda c...
Ok thats cool, I didn't know about that. I hate most of these 'online services' like having to pay to play on xbox and stuff but Steam seams pretty cool, I've been debating on using them.
In fairness I just found my Counter Strike disks and went to install but the paper with the keycode is missing so Steam would have been the better option. The only thing I don't agree with is the pricing since alot of the pricing in games is supposedly for physical med...
I've never tried digital downloads and most likely never will since I'm a fan of Physical Media.
The one thing I was curious about is; you download all you things digitally right? What happens if your hard drive crashes or your motherboard packs in? Do you have a way to backup and re-install the games you've downloaded? Just curious how that works.
All the stores around me carry shite for PC games now. If I can't buy it, I simply don't play it. I won't get into digital downloads ever... NO physical media = NO physical $$ from me.
Really sucks PC keeps getting the low end of the games thanks to console makers bad attempts at forcing you to buy their products though "exclusives". For me, it's PC or nothing since I enjoy my freedom. I suppose in the long run this is saving me a lot of $$$ tho...
I'll probably grab this on day one, I loved playing the first one.
+bubs, that was funny!
Just wait til they do the Kinect teardown which reveals two hamsters, 3 paper clips and a rubber band ;)
Just another great example of how Consoles fully control your content yet PC's still have Freedom of Choice!
I'm sure if they had their way, all games would be 'console exclusives' in an attempt to force gamers to buy their garbage products and 'live by their rules', and by that I mainly mean pay for multiplayer. PC will always be my platform of choice.
What in the hell is SE smoking?!?! Did they just hand this project over to someone thats never even heard of FF before or something?!?!
Agree. Anything digital is gonna get hacked by someone just so they can say they did it. I don't see that ever changing.
Thats because 4chan has been mass bombarding all the votes on gamespot ;)
+bubbles for LULZ!!!!!
I can't honestly believe anyone is still supporting this company. It seems every day there's a new "Hey Gamers, Screw You!" article about Activision or Kotick and yet I still read story after story of "Oh man, Black Ops is coming out soon, I can't wait!" or "Oh man, Diablo III will be out soon, I'm getting it on day 1!!" *facepalm*
This guy appears to be such a nutter I'm surprised he hasn't just completely snapped, glu...
