Rumors are that the minimum GPUS we can expect in Durango or PS4 are AMD6000 series DX11 cards. They could have been working on it on PC for the last two years and plan to port it to the new DX11 consoles when ready.
It's almost certainly using DX11 effects and the texture detail remains sharp a long distance off suggesting this was running on a high end DX11 PC while using a console controller for the stage demonstration.
If this game comes to current consoles, it won't be looking quite like this.
This game looked so damn good. It has to be either PC exclusive or next gen, no question about it. The animations, the lighting, shader quality, lighting quality, relatively high AA, the audio quality. Everything was especially good beyond anything seen to date on any platform.

Microsoft really should allow/fund/help 343 bring this to PC. Considering Halo's multiplayer popularity, they could use it as leverage to finally improve upon and expand Games For Windows Live to the level of quality it should be at.

AMAZING game, hell yeah it's worth it! First game I played straight through almost non-stop in a while. It even runs very smooth day one! I bought the retail version though.
Phenom ii x4 @ 3.5ghz, 8Gb DDR3 @ 1333mhz, and 7970 @ 1250 / 1575,mhz runs the game really well maxed out with 4xMSAA @ 1920x1080. Outdoor rainy level got choppy though. I'm sure it will improve in time with patches and optimized drivers.
