Yes, I know.
"It's like Bioshock all over again" To clear up any confusion: Utterly phenomenal.
If this fixes 99% of the BS, I will go as far as to start another new game.. on Insane difficulty.
Damn, could this mean Drake dies?
Good job comparing the most confined, darkest scene of the game with no dense vegation what-so-ever. Someone please make a proper screen comparison using the outdoor daylight scenes. I'd do it myself, but I don't have the means to record console footage at a high fidelity.
(FOREWARNING: SARCASM) Behind your logic and most other's here we should still be viewing black and white TV and movies because 'filmmakers are only limiting themselves.' Lack of color, surround sound, Digital Video Assistants, Raptor HDDs, wireless communication, 1080p, 4k and up, HD Audio, SSD's, RED, ALEXA, etc, etc, are all just bullshit excuses to be less creative, because the artists didn't want to work with what they had when it was just black and white with no soun...
That's what they've been doing a damn good job of for the last 5-6 years! They're ready for the new tools, because curent gen has hit the plateau, I don't care what kind of "optimizations" they impliment that will only push things so much farther and besides, that's another topic. They can continue to be as creative as they ever want to be with the current tech, what they want is faster tech to implent better technology, better physics, more complicated art direc...
You can't paint in color with a damn lead pencil. You can't paint in color with a damn lead pencil. You can't paint in color with a damn lead pencil. You can't paint in color with a damn lead pencil. How many time do I have to say it! Some people just don't get it!
No shit sherlock, but you missing the whole point the guy's trying to make! He is expressing his desire to push things furhar then they can be pushed now at a technical level so that they may then spread their wings and travel beyond the current benchmarks at the artistic level which is constrained naturally by aging hardware. You can't paint a color image with a lead pencil. Ya got it!?
To the simpleton know-it-all's who think he's talking artistc creativity: He is not! He means to say devs are limited by technical capability of the aging hardware within consoles to be able to furthar push the artistic boundaries. Don't think for a damn second that the brilliant, hard woking minds at Naughty Dog, Infinity Ward, DICE, EPIC, etc.. dont desire the same advancements in hardware capabilitees that this dev who obviosuly knows wtf he is talking about unlike most of the ...
I'd love to see some PS3 exclsives on PC as well, but that's not a simple or cheap task to port games created around PS3's custom archtiecture to the vastly different [hardware] PC world just so a relatively low amount of people can play the games on their PC with high resolutions and better quality settings. Not to mention the addition of proper mouse and keyboard support. Even if every PC user bought the PC version at (let's just say) $60, it still wouldn't be worth it f...
Already have it on Xbox360. Would buy it again in a second if it were coming to PC.
Wish I had heard from you earlier. I told myself not to do any more Crysis 1 comparisons, lol. I have I think 8. Currently working on an 'evolution of Uncharted 1 - 3' video. You will be able to find it along with my other video game videos and live action short films here:

This does confirm anything but to never say never.
No, I don't get it - you're much too clever and serious for me. Oh wait, Occlusion..Films.. Aha! Cute.
Why does my comparison using vanilla DX10 Very High Crysis on PC look vastly different to this video which claims to use vanilla PC footage. My vanilla DX10 Crysis PC video is embedded below as "Related Video." My version's sun is orange and in a different spot at the same moment in time. The OP's video is a different color sun and is at a different angle. What gives?
And The OP's "vanilla" video:
This one amazing, too?
I created the video for lighthearted fun out of curiosity. That is all.
I am the creator of the video. If you take the time to watch the second half, you could see that I had used footage using very low PC settings as well. Also: The PC footage which I recorded myself, was not modded in any way.
I wouldn't know. I had my PS3 set to download and install it while I was sleeping.
