Extra, well-optimized love?
Yeah but what level of PC? I'm so worried my single 7970 isn't up to snuff for this level of quality at 1080p/40-60fps.
Just like Crysis 1 back in 2007 where almost no one could run it maxed.
Damn I sure hope that's not true. We may be entering another Crysis 1 situation.
I just hope a 7970 is enough to run it looking like the demo.
Way to move forward, Nintendo.
PS3 has one main 3.2ghz Power PC based core and 6 SPUs for game programming. Another for OS and an 8th SPU for redundancy.
Xbox 360 has 3 main Power PC based cores each at 3.2ghz.
In as friendly a tone as possible: how do you not have this permanently imprinted in your brain by now?
I hope this as well as Watch Dogs and Square Enix's tech demo aren't each running on some truly insane computer like quad or tri SLI 680s. Hell, even a single 680 or 7970 can't hold 60fps on 64 player BF3 matches or even 60 fps constant in Serious Sam 3 while completely maxed out and still, to this day, NO single GPU can run Crysis 1 completely maxed out at 60fps constant.
I have a 7970 with an AMD Phenom ii x4 955 @ 3.5ghz & 8GB DDR 3 @ 1333mhz and I fear it...
Still don't know the most important things:
Speed and architecture of the CPU, GPU and of the 3GB system RAM. Also, how much VRam?

I agree that TLOU looks incredible, but how can you say it feels next gen when there are no next gen games available to compare?

Hope it's a good game and if this is any indication of how near future games are going to look, I sure hope my new 7970 is capable.
I sure hope a 7970 is enough to run this..
I'm beyond excited enough to fill two soul gems and can't wait to play this heavy weight game on a rainy day.
I thought of Ghost Rider.
Incredible feat. Ingenious programmers and Creative Director - Team communication.
I don't know; those animations, the lighting, the shader quality, the lack of aliasing, the audio quality. This may just be late 2012 - early 2013's version to 2007's Cyris 1 with regards to stress on relative hardware.
Watch out, Hollywood!
OMG so glad I upgraded to a 7970! Might need two or more for this game, though..
Well the Crysis 2 DX11 update was terribly optimized. Rendering the entire tessellated ocean no matter where you were relative to it in levels where there was a body of water and implementing high levels of tessellation to flat, unaffected geometry.
