Agreed.
Not all games will be like that, that is if they're made on a very high level and then ported down to each consle, but a lot will be.
I just hope later on in the gen, the PS4 really shows the difference between the two.
They should localize it. Niche series aren't failures. Look at the Tales of series. The next rumored one Tales of Zestria, has already been registered in the US. Before that, we waited 2 years for Xillia. Look where it is now.
1080p 60fps is great and devs should target it, but it's not mandate.
I wouldn't say it doesn't matter, but it isn't something that must ALWAYS happen.
The Steam Machines are basically PCs. Why not just build one?
The Steam controller looks very awkward. Most PC gamers I know just connect up their 360 controller to their rigs.
There's something seriously fishy here...
Deep Down runs at 1080p 60 fps, inFamous SS has better graphics than this and runs at 1080p 30fps, but multiplats aren't doing that. I'm seriously thinking the XBO is gimping the PS4. It is a launch game though.
The next gen is not ruined, it's just not good enough for your PC masta race experience. Have fun killing you wallet.
The trackpads and face buttons worry me the most.
The trackpad is basically a virtual analog stick and like the writer said, if you've tryed mobile gaming with that thing, it blows.
The face buttons are so awkwardly placed as well.
'All I’m saying is patience. Those of us who have been in gaming for decades know the dance.
New consoles are revealed.
PC elitist come out of their caves bragging about graphics and frame rates.
Launch titles aren’t mind-blowing.
People complain about no significant leap in graphical fidelity.
Then some developer like Naughty Dog or Sony Santa Monica reveals their next-gen game they’ve been working on for years, everyone is blown away and the flood...
I think this controller is too much of a bet.
Track pads in replacement of analog sticks with awkward face button placement is not a megaton.
You don't need to call him an idiot. Instead of being completely disrespectful and acting like a child, you should address his blog a bit more maturely.
That's basically code for 'The original policies for the Xbox one will come back'
First they say that they're original vision hasn't changed and now this? Using the Steam Machines as an excuse?
This controller is quite unusual.
Instead of analog sticks, it has trackpads and the few face buttons it has are placed quite strangely.
This controller is gonna take some time getting used to.
The touchscreen apparently has a high resolution.
I guess this works with the PC and the Steam Machines and it's hackable... hmmm
This is quite strange to me. I think the SteamOS is a good idea, but the Steam Machines and Steam Controller kinda pointless/stra...
On the VITA?! Got damn, this game is going everywhere!
Depends. Oculus Rift should get some more support, if it isn't just a gimmick.
They're either being lazy with optimization, or just not having enough time for it. It is a launch game stretching on 5 platforms, 2 of which are current gen.
If the PS3 and 360 can run 720p and 30fps for GTA5, then this really doesn't worry me.
Where the hell did you here that?
If current gen consoles could do that, they would've been $3000+ back in 2006.
You can't really expect a $400 console to play an open world game with graphics and a dynamic world like this at 60 FPS. Especially at launch.
You can go ahead and build or buy a gaming PC, but you're gonna have to pay a LOT of money.
Not surprising at all.
It's an open world, cross gen launch game. Of course it's not going to be @ 60 fps.
Question:
Are you really expecting a full 60fps on ALL next gen games? Think about it. You're getting some pretty sweet looking graphics, and then a steady 30 fps. So of you want a full 60 fps on all next gen games, then you're disregarding the fact that the graphics wouldn't be as good. Not to mention the consoles wouldn't be as reasonably...
I'm surprised Disney still has actors left for there shows.
Oh snap, here we go again. What happened to that secret sauce?
Seriously, first, this game runs at 900p and now it gets a triangle count downgrade. What more proof do you need to know that there is no secret sauce?
I don't want the next gen to get gimped by the XBO.
The PS4 should be getting the superior console versions (PC will be the best anyway).
If Sony needs to throw a few bucks at devs, they should do it. Either that, or devs are in for a real crisis on twitter...
