Resolving a bricking issue within 1 week isn't good enough for you? Is waiting an entire year better?
It's data saved specifically for XMB use (for the accounts) that is stored on the HDD (hidden).
UPDATE IS AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD NOW!
Get it while it's hot and the servers aren't fully loaded!
So they have Facebook stalkers as well.. lol
They can probably fork out X amount of money to do whatever repairs they need or offer customer service like they have, but the fact is that, this problem should have never existed in the first place. What kind of engineers does Microsoft hire? Oh wait, they did create Windows! Guess we shouldn't be TOO surprised.
Blu-ray isn't only for game development you know, they have some other uses as well, store entire projects on discs, store full pc backups, store full databases, etc.
It's funny when people call it a fiasco when not even 5% of people have reported issues with it. Please, when enough people can show some solid and concrete proof that their PS3's have bricked on them due to the 2.4 Firmware Update ALONE, then you can talk.
With constant commitment and fully featured Firmware Updates, yes. Since Playstation Network is free-to-play online multiplayer, all games that offer an online side can do so without any additional charges. From the get go, Playstation Network plays its trump card with the non-pricing of its online service while its direct competitor charges 50$ for a 12 month subscription (and still charges for themes, and other DLC).
Except, Square-Enix is hard at work on their White Engine, since they probably know about the limitations of UE3 when it comes to what they want to do.
Sorry, but 4/5 was never "essentially 90%", it is 80%... Classifying it with those games in that score range is just absurd.
Had a 360 at launch (replaced by a refurb via the RROD service)
Had a PS3 since launch (upgraded to 250GB)
Had a Wii since launch
Maybe so, however Mario Party is exclusively Nintendo, and Bomberman isn't really enough to make anyone care whether or not they develop for PS3 or not.
It's funny, because the only real difference is the development kit hardware... Apart from that, programmers are paid on a wage, regardless what language they program in. So how exactly is it more expensive...
Hudson who?
Even though it isn't that great of a game, you can't beat PS3's user-created content.
What weapon? I don't see a price cut as a weaoin unless the price is reduced to $199. Both machines offer totally different media experiences (including games) that differ them greatly.
For the very few people who actually encountered any problems it shows a lot how Sony is dedicated to working with its userbase to resolve any issues as soon as they arise.
Even though the problem was very contained (as opposed to how the media tries to portray it) Sony's willing to look into these issues.
Check out the fanboy was over at the joystiq comments section on this article.. lol
The article author is a complete idiot. All the features of 2.4 were known before it was released, and he's saying that it fails because it doesn't deliver what it wasn't supposed to? Please, go cry in your mommy's arms you sad excuse for a gaming journalist.
XBOX360 slim? SLIM chance... They still have heat issues with their full scale SKUS, there is no way they're going to make a slim version (especially with higher costs) with the lingering issue of the RROD (caused by overheating).
XBOX 720? Probably not, since issuing an announcement about it now would probably send all developers to the PS3 since they have no clue what Microsoft would do with their new machine.
Common sense people.
