I agree boz..Timesplitter was one of my fave games on PS2 and you are right it does deserve some credit for pulling on FPS last gen..but if Timesplitters gets credit for showing the potential..then Halo HAS to get it for revolutionizing the control scheme..that the mouse and controller got left behind by millions and why we are here today saying that FPS is the #1 genre this gen.

In comparison, Sony clearly dominates Japan, where Microsoft clearly dominates America. They both are pretty even in Europe.
But the fact is Japan isn't a factor when it come to software sales.
Games like Uncharted 2, God of War 3, and Little big planet cant aren't even in the top 50 in Japan. In fact, you can't even get those games to sell 200,000 in Japan. Gran Turismo 5 which is huge in Japan couldn't even sell 1 million.

Microsoft didn't sell 10 Million Kinects with just this pretend 'casual' crowd.
Millions and millions of stand alone's sold (meaning existing customers) already bought and are playing are playing Kinect.
Micrsoft got it dead-on..the fickle press means nothing. Last year the news was Micrsoft lost E3..Kinect is too expensive..lag..lag..

I'll help you out Tomb Raider put the 3rd person adventure genre on the map. Everything from treasure hunting in exotic locations, to the puzzle elements, to the platformg elements, to the shooting of cronies, were all inspired from past Tomb Raider games.
