Really? Why the difference?
Even open zone is pretty sober. I'm shocked.
"Unless Microsoft decides to pull some sort of trick and have some other company develop the games"
Like the new company they're forming from the bulk of Ensemble after they close that studio?
I was hoping the entire body of this article would consist of, "Yeah, me too."
How aren't game developers "honest"? They work hard to make a game to entertain you. Just because you're butt-hurt that such-and-such game only had 4-player coop when they totally promised 8-player coop a year ago, that doesn't mean you're somehow justified in pirating their product.
Intellectual property.
Maybe Alexa just changed the way they calculated traffic. I think if Kotaku was losing that kind of traffic, they'd be cutting staff, no? Gawker Media just let a bunch of people go from their other blogs.
There's a few different reasons (economy, more competing websites, time of the year) that could contribute to lower traffic. Maybe sites are getting better at aggregating news from other websites and there's less need for people to check multiple sites? The only thing I'm sure of is that the lower traffic has nothing to do with stupid ass console feuds. Most people reading news site go there to check - wait for it - news, and couldn't give a crap about these arguments that fanboys are obsesse...
My eyes. They burn.
What I like about this generation of consoles is that there's no redheaded stepchild - they're all staying above water and getting good exclusives. I'd much rather that than some segment of the gaming population getting stuck with an abandoned console - that doesn't help anyone.
Yeah, I haven't bought anything yet, either. Maybe I'll pick up Fallout Tactics. Still got my old Fallout 1 and 2 CD's.
And to be clear, Joystiq claims that a reader sent it in. I have no idea whether that reader found it from some other site or what. It seems fairly impossible to determine.
How does an expansion pack flop?
Alright, I think we've squeezed all of the juice out of this fruit by now.
I don't see how this list couldn't have a single one of the PC flight sims. If not Tie Fighter, then X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter or X-Wing Alliance.
If you think it's such a mind-blowing spoiler, why'd you post it here for other people to inadvertently view?
I was all set to buy the Enhanced Edition of Witcher off Steam. However, then I saw the front page of Steam and was...sidetracked.
Should've signed up Dave Chapelle for the ads. I feel like we're getting to the point where Seinfeld's not really that big of a draw - we're what, a decade removed from the sitcom going off the air? Get someone who hasn't already done these types of advertisements.
See how long it takes them to make a game on just one or two platforms? Imagine how long it would take them if they had to do it for every platform.
Some developers favor one platform or another. I'm glad there's a developer out there who's committed first and foremost to the PC. It's rare, especially with shooters.

Still, you'd think they'd want to go through Steam to lessen piracy.
