Apparently Steam ran over this guy's dog or something.
There's no install limits on Steam.
Ah, I grabbed that off Steam on a whim a couple months back. It's a classic, though pretty damn buggy.
Agreed. Steam is the golden standard for digital distribution now. The source of many impulse purchases for me as well.
Really should be free, considering how small of a window you have to play them.
Exactly. You stop earning experience 1 point away from hitting 71 - the rationale being that you'll be so overcome by the possibility of levelling up that you'll immediately upgrade. Having gotten sucked in on a 10 day trial for the original WoW (which I upgraded as soon as I hit the cap of 20 or so), I can attest to how effective it is.
If it wasn't just a short expansion, I might agree. Surprised Far Cry 2 wasn't even in the discussion.
This isn't actually news. This is him just saying "zomg news sites want traffic!" and buying into the whole tin foil hat, "this website is out to destroy my beloved console" conspiracy crap.
Attention: some guy with a blogspot account is very angry-face with video games!!!
Horde's pretty much all I play. Lot of fun, too.
I'm curious where these standings will be after Christmas, though. One would suspect they'd get a bounce.
It's like with MMO's - they want to make sure as many gamers as possible can run it. Is it any coincidence that MMO's and Sims are the biggest sellers?
"Drink your ovaltine"?
To be fair, he had a few hits....but then he pissed all his money away. One hit's more than most musicians muster, though.
There was a C+C Music Factory game, too, if memory serves. Sega CD really was a disaster.
Eh, I remember throwing controllers back in the old days too. Games like R-Type were just ridiculous and basically required you to memorize the levels.
"2 Legit To Take Out That German Machine Gun Nest"?
Maybe he's the Zerg-Protoss hybrid we've heard so much about.
It really wouldn't surprise me.
I think you can get plenty of insight from reading reviews these days - just don't read the score. The score (and maybe the conclusion paragraph) might get fudged to make the review "kinder" but the specifics throughout the review usually aren't faked.
Actually, no, the guy said Steam is the same as SecuROM, but it is not. People just have a bug up their ass about any time of copyright protection and fail to realize that, you know, games might need some.
