Yes :**(
I feel the exact same way. Seems like a great game and I really do want it to be successful, but I'm not feeling hooked like seemingly everyone else.
Black Desert is a good game, but I feel like so many people claim to be addicted or love it perhaps because it's the cool thing in the MMO scene.
I will continue to play BDO until I get hooked by one of its many features, or until I simply don't like it.
Don't have much to say about the preorder controversy, but I do have to say that this game is way more Korean than I was hoping for it. The UI feels very overwhelming and the quests don't feel like quests. They feel like rushed tasks. Just playing the game, I felt very rushed and I was having trouble knowing what I should be looking at.
This is coming from a person who has played a lot of MMOs.
What is with this Korean MMO obsession? I'm burnt out on it.
The pause icon was not working.
It should draw you in, not keep you away, my friend. This is a beautiful breakthrough in PC gaming. Absolutely beautiful.
I'm viewing this article on my phone and the article is autoplaying the slide show way too fast...very annoying.
This is good progress.
All I want is to play SOCOM Confrontation on emulated servers (probably not possible but that won't stop me from hoping).
I would personally provide some serious funding to a project to bring Confrontation back.
As a gamer of all platforms, but primarily PC, I must agree with you. I could write a lengthy list of my favorite games that consists largely of console exclusives.
@Bansai,
Me personally...I'm furious, but what can I do about it, beside boycott them? I haven't bought a Ubi game since AC Black Flag.
That's fairly true. If you read this and you think you'll ever be streaming, definitely invest in a hyperthreaded i7. Makes the world's difference.
I just passed the one year mark on the PC I built around New Year 2015.
I'm running the Devil's Canyon i5 4690k paired with a GTX 970 (I knoww, I knoww, cookie cutter build!)
It still feels so new to me even though Broadwell and Skylake are already out.
Considering I have the unlocked version of the i5, I will probably not upgrade it for some years to come. I usually upgrade my CPU when it begins to bottleneck even after an OC.
@RedDeadLB
I remember seeing some benchmarks somewhere showing that DX12 on Windows 10 didn't actually give us any jaw dropping improvements in performance. I really hope that is not the case.
If you've seen anything in the last 3 months that proves me wrong please show me, because I may have missed something! (:
I'm feeling fall of 2016.
Who said joy and anger do not count? Nobody said that.
They do count.
The games are judged by the selected jury, and are ranked based on how well they provoke your emotions. Those emotions can be anything from happiness to grief to anger to jealousy and so on. There are many, many different emotions that we experience. The game that provokes them the strongest will obviously win the award.
Evidently you only read the title, the comments, and looked at...
I would like to add that the reason The Last of Us is my favorite game of all time is because of the emotional story.
The mission behind this contest is great.
The article reads:
"The organizers of the Emotional Games Awards state on the official website that by hosting the award they hope to inspire the developers of tomorrow to make video games that will create "more sympathy and passion, than fear, stress or surprise" in players."
This is actually really awesome. There have been times when I was specifically looking for emotional games that hit me straight in the feels.
It's like what @FlipSwitch said.
Third Party support and hardware power go hand in hand.
It is clear that the gaming community gets most hyped for games with impressive visuals. Hype turns into sales.
I don't see too many people get hyped for games purely because of the story, unless it's part of a preexisting IP.
I think you're right, haha! I don't have a problem with it either. I think it was very, very clever planning on 343's part.
Fair enough! I get where you're coming from.
Me personally, I love the suspense of having one guy left and seeing if he can hang in there and take out the rest of the enemy team! Haha
These are all very valid points. It's a good article for people who are wanting to try competitive PvP in any MMO.
