Human Nature
They couldn't come up with a more original name...? Just....WWII? Damn Activision come on now... Give it some character.
I'll just pretend this article is satire.
I actually wanted a Switch but I'm not having a hard time justifying dropping over $300 to have one.
I'm 50/50 about adopting the Switch early on. This platform simply cannot take off successfully if nobody is willing to give it a starting chance. It needs early adopters. If none of you are willing to buy it reasonably soon after launch then go ahead and consider the console to be a flop. Third party support won't come in the way you want it if they aren't seeing a profitable platform.
Simply put, the Switch desperately needs more system sellers for me, and if have a few...
I'm not judging the polish of the game. I am judging the concept of the game and judging it by what it is trying to become, once it is polished. It's so stupid and the guys at Funcom are fools to be making this game. Such a waste of time and money. Mark my word, this game will die off very quickly and never truly get off the ground. Mark my word. Come back and read this a couple of months after its final release.
It has that impression because the bezel is perceived to be thinner.
To be honest, the game looks like complete sh#%.. Sorry, Funcom, but seriously.
@Allsystemgamer It's worth noting that they are two totally different types of games. The amount of objects and things you can interact with, the AI, and all of the computations that go with all of that... It's just so totally different. The performance vs graphical fidelity alone is such a skewed way to look at optimization, to be honest.
For the record, I really like your username.
I'm very pleased with Microsoft. They are finally pushing the pace and addressing the elephant in the room. I have been wishing for platform cross-play for many years. I almost forgot that Microsoft approached Sony about potential cross-platform multiplayer but from we could see, Sony wanted no part of it... I no longer see "Micro$oft" ..Instead, I see "$ony" (; just kidding!! lol
For the record, I have PS4, Xbox One and PC. I plan on getting a Switch to play...
For all the people who complain about Activision being greedy and not selling it as a standalone release in order to maximize their profits, I completely agree. Their greed is outstanding and like someone else here said, it's a shocking lack of respect for their fans. So with that said, be wise and vote with your wallets. If it's the money they're after, don't freaking give it to them! Just wait and they will release it on it's own.
Funny thing is....the tech is definitely there. And the game is undoubtedly in development, but not the stages that many think of when they hear development. That is why he said that..to avoid misinterpretation. The game has already been, or is currently being written and planned out. I would not doubt it.
mikeslemonade....sweet child.. You just don't know the joys of sitting shoulder to shoulder with your friends and playing a game together. It's the best way to play with friends! So much more exciting and fun and the gaming-friendship bond is so much stronger when you can high five your friend or shove him out of his chair because he merc'd you. Just so much fun.. Try it with some of your good gamer friends.
And LAN parties! Oh man don't get me started... 4 player spl...
This is great! I can't wait to mess around in Forge using a keyboard and mouse.
I gave up on it because it was too shallow. Not a lot to really do, besides catch them, farm shops and hold a gym. It needs more battles, the option to challenge your friends to a duel. Also, the game needs some form a back story.
Simple as that. It became boring way too fast.
Personally, I'm sick of Skyrim. Simple as that.
I feel like what you are saying is going to turn out true. I hope not, but I have to agree with what you're saying.
Also wanted to add that you put that together really well. I appreciate well thought out opinions, especially in this community, lol.
Cheers!
Damn...kinda sad how fast people get over things like that.
But also, I think it was Niantic's fault for making the game so shallow. Not really a lot to it when you think about it.
The only bit of optimism I have at this point for the NX is this:
I think it would be a very innovative and an intelligent design to make it portable and target the handheld player-base like this article suggests...and ALSO having some kind of dock at home that has it's own set of hardware that (with some pretty crafty design) could greatly enhance the NX handheld's computing power. Therefor, it could play high end games at home that would require a "home mode" or &...
It's really an epidemic with the gaming industry right now.
Just like what Kreisen said here in the comments, it's too easy for developers to get their hands on some dev tools.
All you have to do is slap together 1 or 2 minutes of pretty footage that represents what you WANT, and suddenly you have a horde of hopeful gamers with sweaty palms thrusting fistfuls of cash at you when the devs don't even have a complete idea for their game.
And THEN ...
Let's face it...the majority of you guys are primarily console users. I don't think these people understand.. $500 for solid 4K gaming is a hell of a deal... you guys just don't understand.. not to mention the resolution up-scaling for 1080p displays, it'll still look even better for non-4K display owners.
Legitimate 4K gaming will cost you a pretty penny on PC.
